Steph curry has a one motion shot. Players like Mj, Kobe, Lebron, they have a 2 motion shot meaning they usually have a high set point before they release the ball. If you wanna be able to knock down deeper threes with less power, or if you’re a shorter guard, a one motion shot would be way more helpful. 2 motion shots are more accurate for midrange shooting and free throws tho.

2 motion shots don’t help with accuracy, but they are less likely to get bloked

I agree with a lot of this. I just think if you are consistently making your shots you don’t change much especially how you hold the basketball. You always want to improve on footwork which is what I like when he is talking about tilting feet. Overall good stuff ! I always want to improve to be a better teacher of the game of basketball.

I dig your energy. I would love for you to slow down and show a close up of how you are holding the ball, add slow motion like you did in the end.

I agree with most of what he is saying but you don’t have to tilt, if you want to shoot exactly like curry then go for it. However I’m just saying if you find tilting uncomfortable or you think it’s Been harming your shot then don’t do it

this video is so under rated i have been trying to recreate steph currys shot for a while now and you have covered all of the bases except when i shoot the ball i do 2 things different i shoot with my index finger instead of my middle finger and i dont put my hands on the side of the ball but after seeing the bounus tip im def going to try the wrist pronation

Before you shoot the ball have a wider grip and before the ball leave your hands it should be in the flick grip while pronating 🤔

Well thought out video that was explained really well. A quick question; I am a short player that's trying to improve their shot. I have more than enough power as I have a great build however my shot is inconsistent. I'll either make a loud and clear swish or hit the backboard, airball. Are there any tips that you could reconmend me to shoot better? Thank you.

How do you release the ball when shooting?

Curry is a push out the hand shooter and holds the ball on the side. If you want an effortless shot hold your off hand on top of the ball and flick or load wrist shoot out the shooting hand. Feet and all that else is optional

How would you teach that to kids? It seems like it’s a interpretation on how Curry shoots but it can be just him, Thompson doesn’t shoot like that. Anyways, it would be cool to see how you would teach it to kids.

The only problem with rotational power is with your feet planted to one side. If that's the way you have to shoot, what are you gonna do when you're attacking from the other direction that makes it to where you have to turn more in order to set your feet and get your shot off not very effective. And I don't think that's a complete study of how steph curry gets his shot off.

You're not explaining WHY. You're just saying what to do. It sounds like you don't understand what you're talking about, whether or not you're right. You might understand this stuff, but you're not conveying that in this video.
