Your life lesson on remembering to enjoy the journey and not to sacrifice present happiness for an eventual goal resonated with me deeply. I'm currently 22, 1 year into my master's degree and I still have a burning desire to practice medicine. I've experienced failure multiple times but I dont want to give up. One of the lessons I've slowly come to realise is that although its important to work towards your eventual dreams/goals, its important to savour the present moment. I've started to tell myself that it's not okay to watch life pass me by, or to be sad due to self imposed suffering. Knowing to enjoy the journey is very important, and although it's probably something we all know, we often forget. Your video served as a helpful reminder and that being able to value the present moment and find happiness within, is a journey itself. I'm still going to chase my dream of medicine but I'm now going to savour the journey I have to take to get there. Having gratitude for all the blessings I have in life helps to recalibrate my baseline conditioning of happpiness. Sometimes I forget how much of a blessing it is to be able to study a Master's degree, live in a comfotable home, have a loving family, and have money to live life in relative comfort. Keep up the great work Izzy! Regards -a fan from Aotearoa :)

Amazing that you came up with so many life lessons in the short space of your college years, Izzy! Some people take longer to figure things out. Like myself, with a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, I worked as an engineer for 15 years before I decided to change my life completely. And you are right in saying you are what you think. I had to change the way I perceived the world, questioned and challenged my belief systems and biases, before I took the leap to be whatvI always wanted to be when I was a teenager, an actor. I've achieved some goals, but continue to look for more challenges, or as you put it, my discomfort zone. I did share my "findings" or lessons learned in my first book, and hope to continue to give back to the world in many ways. Keep up the good work!

Hello Izzy! Besides taking care of ourselves, we must never forget the people who are around us; family, friends, even acquaintances. In case we feel lost at some point, thinking of giving up, there's always someone who can give us a boost, a word to continue fighting for what we want to be. Thank you for sharing these life lessons!

Every word you said is so accurate. Yes, it takes courage to do the right thing and be in an uncomfortable zone, but both make you a person of character in the long run. I love your quote by the Buddha. While developing connections, one of the challenges I faced is judging who is trustworthy enough for me to share my vulnerabilities and who is not. This is the one problem I encountered while searching for good friends and good mentors. One I would like to add to the list is the power of self-introspection. This helps you grow, keep up the habits/practices that got you ahead, and prevent the ones that brought you down. I see self-introspection as a self-help method that helps one grow and succeed.

Izzy, the last lesson from this video almost makes me want to cry--because it is so true and I can feel this lesson every single day in my life. Because I have people who really love me around, but also have people who will hold me back with their negativity or even shame me. But I am not scared. Since I know that time will help me and my loved ones will also help me, AND all I need to do is to choose the right people and right mindset to go through all my important evolution and become the one I really want to be. I really like 8:22 in the video where at that moment, all the right people are in your life and their happy faces are around u. That, including your happy face, make me remind of the smiley faces of my loved ones. That's why I wanna cry and I miss them, LOVE them every day.

Great video, Izzy! I really like the idea of enjoying the path instead of waiting for something to happen. I’ve been practicing Tàijíquán for many years now and my biggest interest is to keep up my practice with joy and not to reach some kind of final goal. Because it doesn’t exist in my opinion. Seeing myself grow every day is what makes me happy. But what I like the most is inner stillness. That’s way beyond anything that can be described by words - it’s just amazing!

Something caught me off-guard by your video "Life lessons from Cambridge": I initially thought all your lessons would be from good experiences, Since you have a wonderful bright & bubbly personality. It's not until you enlightened me by the fact that, Not all lessons of growth come from everything going Hunky-dory but, Some of the best growth you can incur comes from the experiences in life that were suboptimal and which you would rather change. But since remaining aware, you can learn from, and grow from them. Thank's for your BEAUTIFUL positivity Izzy, I greatly enjoy your videos I look forward to learning from you. :) -Grant A.
