As an autistic woman I honestly hate how I’ve always been set up with boys who also have autism and I’m left alone with them, I’ve had issues in the past where I’ve stated my boundaries or discomfort with stuff that they’ve ignored or been rude about - I guess as a girl I’ve been socialised to be more conscious about these things, even if I’m not perfect. I’m honestly disturbed by how naive adults are to leave girls/women to boys with special needs because they ‘can’t hurt a fly’ in their eyes. It’s so frustrating and I keep having to deal with it. ‘This boy is so nice and just like you!’ And he just has the same label 😭 it’s also insulting in general that people have never set me up with neurotypical men because they don’t think they can ‘handle’ me. Just all around disgusting general ableism. This may sound horrible for me to say, but because of this extra vulnerability I have I feel extra scared of men with special ed because of this. I got followed by one guy and my assistant teacher laughed about it and said he likes me. This was in COLLEGE

So with the first one, here's a fun fact if you've ever experienced something like that. You know, like where you suddenly realize as an adult that something from your childhood was actually super messed up. See there's a thing that often happens where, when we're kids and our brains are still developing, stuff can happen to us or around us and we know that it's happened, we understand what it is, but we don't *fully* understand it because our developing brains are unable to do so. Thus we might seem largely unaffected by it because our brains can't understand and process the trauma enough to be traumatized by it. To use an example, a kid I knew was attacked and sexually assaulted when she was 4, just around the time she turned 5, she knew about good touch/bad touch and understood that the guy had done something bad, but to her it was like if someone had tickled her feet (which she passionately hated). It was an unpleasant sensory experience that she didn't like and wanted to stop, but she didn't really understand that he'd done something so much worse than just tickling her. The other interesting part though is that the advice to her parents was, make sure she knows they know about it and she can talk about it, but otherwise don't make a big fuss and don't get her straight into therapy, instead get THEMSELVES into therapy so they know how to handle it in a few years when she starts bringing it up. See when a very little kid is hurt, they look to their parents like, "okay, how hurt actually am I, though? How worried should I be, how scared should I be, how bad is this? How should I react?" If you've ever seen a kid fall over you know what I mean, in fact you can see this in action if you've ever seen those "Pranking my baby" videos where the parents tap a doorframe or something just as their kid's head passes it, and then acts like the kid's head was what hit the doorframe, the kid will start to cry as though they were hurt, and rub their head as though it's hurting them. Very young children learn how freaked out their should be from their parents. So yeah, it wasn't until she was 7 that she started realizing something messed up had happened to her, and a year later she started therapy, and over the next few years she process her trauma in new ways, not because something new had happened but because her brain had gained some new tool or level of development and was now processing it a specific way for the first time. And here's the thing, that'll continue to happen until you're 25+, especially because another part of this is that we're constantly updating our understanding of the world based on the tools and experiences we've had. A lot of people who were abused as kids for instance won't realise they were abused until they have kids of their own, or they'll know they were abused but they won't realise certain details of the abuse until they have their own children, because when they become a parent they have a new lens through which to see their own childhood and their own parents actions. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case someone else has had something like that happen to them and they're wondering why. Sometimes understanding the thing helps you cope with it so there you go, have some understanding

The bomb story hit a little close to home. I don't know if anyone remembers this but downtown Nashville was bombed Christmas Day 2020. It of course made world news but with Covid still in full force people may not remember. Downtown was already facing difficulties. Covid shutdowns plus a recent tornado had left the heart of our beloved city barely beating. The bomb was something else, surreal watching the news. Hundreds could've died. I won't go jnto all the details, feel free to google. The shocker. The bomber lived within walking distance from my house. Just the next little neighborhood up from mine. I hate to think what could've happened. If he would've made a mistake or even purposely set a bomb off in his neighborhood mine would've went with it. You don't know who your neighbors are, even if you think you do. You dont know whats going on in their head.

But when the bully seemingly went up to stab him and Sarah, it sounded like something in his mentality just cracked and he went on a blind rampage. Is that first one supposed to be implying that Bobo _killed_ both the other two? …. Because it apprently takes WAY longer than the movies make it seem to choke someone to death. Very skeptical at the way he danced around implying they were dead instead of coming right out and saying it, and also even more skeptical if Bobo supposedly choked two people to death. Like, you can fall unconscious from choking fairly quickly, but you don’t just instantly die from that. Usually you need to be strangled for a much longer period of minutes to actually die. In some disturbing true crime stories/documentaries I’ve listened to, including real footage of killers in police interrogation rooms, people have talked about being shocked at how long it took to actually choke someone to death, and how they sometimes had to take more than one go at it. With the writer’s dad and uncle flooring it to the beach in their car, and the police also doing so, just how much time would Bobo have had to fully strangulate two other people? 🤨

It takes about 3 to five minutes to strangle someone. It would need to be continuous pressure the whole time. So the least amount of time he would need would be 6 minutes. He could have crushed the trachea but it's not instant death. Looking online for anything about it 2 kids getting strangled by another in marblehead ma has brought up nothing. Something like that would have been reported on. So yeah I'm 85 percent sure it's bullshit.

First one is crazy but I can't find any news stories or anything to corroborate its authenticity. Pretty sure it's fake.

There are over 20,000 murders annually in modern times… there’s not 20,000 news stories. Heck there was a dead body found near a store here, everybody who walked by saw it… outside somebody asking about it in Reddit, not a single news story, wasn’t even on the police debriefing website. Not everything gets a news article outside of local news
