@@veganix6757 KZitem won't allow me to post links to studies, but you can find them for yourself. The uptake rates and conversion rates of plant nutrients in the human body a quite low, on average. The conversion rates of pre-vitamin A carotenoids are found to be relatively low in adult humans (ranging from 10-20%) and are highly contingent on the age, digestive health and overall health status of the subject. This is partly why cellular vitamin A deficiencies are so common throughout the undeveloped world. To compound this problem, we don't really know how prevalent vitamin A deficiencies are in the developed world because testing methods (blood/serum samples) do not reflect cellular penetration. A tissue biopsy of various internal structures would be required to check for an underlying deficiency, if the symptoms of deficiency are present but the blood sample appears within normal range. Futhermore, when it comes to supplementation, increasing dosage of pre-vitamin A carotenoids is ineffectual in correcting a deficiency as studies show a limited inverse relationship (an increase in beta-carotene intake results in lower uptake/conversion rates) The beta carotene absorption rate ranges from 5% to 65% in human beings (dependent upon variables like the particular plant food in question, preparation and meal pairing). This absorption doesn't translate to conversion in a 1:1 ratio, so you're already converting from a disadvantaged position.

Veggies, above ground, don't raise my blood suger if I have some fat with them, as a dip or spread or buttered/olive oiled. My diabetic nutritionist assigned to me by my diabetes doctor said if I didn't eat adequate carbs ( 30 - 45 3x a day) and add a bed time snack heavy in milk products that my liver would make its own glucose and dump it in the middle if the night and I would die. She also cut my protien to just 3 oz 3x a day. Needless to say I dumped her and that doctor. They ruined my labs in just a few weeks, that I had spent 4 months improving on Keto. My question is "are they paid by Pharma to keep us sick?". She had my labs that showed my improvement on Keto on 8/16 but insisted I was doing everything wrong.

Thanks again for an excellent quick Bio on necessary human nutrients Dr Berry.. Perhaps people should know that as ranchers and beef producers , we spend thousands of dollars on mineral supplements for our cows , calves , bulls and yearlings .. We have our feed tested every year for nutrients and because our domestic farm animals are not roaming for miles year round where they can find natural mineral licks, we MUST provide them or they simply wouldn't survive .. The mineral mix contains the macro minerals such as Calcium, Phosphorous, Magnesium, Manganese ..and micro minerals..iodine, zinc, copper and selenium.. ..Grade 5 science tells us ..minerals can neither be created nor destroyed.. so if they ARENT in the soil .. they WONT be in the plants .. BUT.. they ARE in the beef ! And 80 % of what you put into a cow comes out the back end as GOLD for the soil and its microbes!! BTW.. a calf born to a cow deficient in SELENIUM.. IS EITHER BORN DEAD OR SUFFERING FROM 'WHITE MUSCLE DISEASE' WHICH IS BOVINE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY .. An human adult requires about 400 mcgms per day to be optimally healthy and considering ALL domestic ruminents and hogs are fed selenium.. that us probably the only place we can get ours without supplements .. Also ..plants grown on sulfur rich soils will NOT take up selenium even if it is in the soil.

Also, I have just about come off of my stomach medication (Nexium) Not needing it since being on Keto. Regardless of taking prednisone, my A1C is down to 6.3. Not sure if Ozempic has kept the blood sugars down and perhaps the Keto Diet. On and on I go ... Hi Dr. Berry Many are poor converters to DHA. Well many are also poor converters of k1 to k2 which is why we need animal based foods (natto is the exception).According to other sources (not you) pastured eggs contain more vitamin K2 than eggs that are not pastured. They are definitely healthier looking with the deep orange colored yolks instead of the pale yellow yolks. Also grass fed cows will produce dairy that contains K2 but grain fed cows don't because there is no K1 for the cow to convert from a grain diet. Grass is high in K1 and grass fed cows covert it to K2.

I'd love to see Dr. Berry do a video on this. I highly suspect it's simply another way to attack meat but would be nice to have facts to discuss with our doctors who claim this. I'm 73, female, and have been about 90% carnivore for several months. I was previously keto for about 2 - 3 years but noticed a loss of energy and also my hair was falling out. Began increasing meat and doubled my vit. B supplimentation. Noticed an almost immediate increase in energy and my hair grew back even thicker than before. Back to hiking and other outdoor activities and the mental clarity and enthusiasm for day-to-day living has returned. Anyway, sorry for the long post but wanted to explain a bit of background. If Dr. Berry would do a video on this, it would be awesome. My current battle with my doc is the increase in cholesterol. He wants me on statins and I keep refusing. Glad you and your husband have one another to bounce ideas off each other and are committed to better health together. Lost my dear husband in Oct. of 2019. He and I were likewise committed to good health and activities. All the best to you both. ❤️ Edited to add: I'm also highly allergic to most veggies, all grains, and citrus. So carnivore works.

How many calories are in vegetables? You’d have to eat heaps of carrots to get the daily minimum whereas a small piece of beef would be enough. If that’s true why isn’t that highlighted more? Too easy to get complete nutrition from meat.

@Eli_NagareVT
2 жыл бұрын
It's how a Ruminant animal's digestive system works. Their digestive system is designed to break down and digest plant matter so that those animals can extract the greatest nutrient content. A Ruminant animal's stomach(s) and gut bacteria does all the nutrient magic that we benefit from by consuming their meat. Edit: a human's digestive system doesn't have the full capabilities to process plant matter when compared to a Ruminant animal.

@@desertdenizen6428 Yes, their anatomies and digestive systems are very different from ours. They synthesize these things because they are herbivores, so they MUST synthesize them. Last night I did a noodle free spaghetti with Italian sausage and shrimp with onion, mushroom, and home canned small heirloom tomatoes with 1/4 cup of both hunts tomato sauce and a no sugar added ragu spaghetti sauce. Added 2 tbsp parm on top. And yes, it's kinda dirty keto mixed with a bit of lax keto. At least I'm not buying keto products and use mostly fresh or home canned/fermented foods. And I really do read labels. Today I'm gonna make fish jerky using ready to eat smoked trout fillets I bought online. Figured that with a smoothie and a keto coffee would be a good on the go or post work-out breakfast on the go.
