I disagree. WHEN a parent MODELS these behaviours, you empower your children (and others) to internalize these behaviours and empathy and honesty as well as a sense of personal responsibility. Teachers and other adults in a child's life who, likewise, model emotional intelligence also have the potential to impact children in these ways as well, but the most effective way to empower another and encourage positive change is to BE the CHANGE you want to see in the world. As a parent, you are (presumably) spending TIME with your child(ren), though as a parent who HOMELEARNED my kids, i had the luxury of far more TIME with my kids: loving, learning and laughing WITH them. A personal choice, made for the benefit of my eldest son, (of necessity, lest the fragile yet powerful "flame of learning" be crushed out of his young life) was, for my entire small family, a hugely positive experiment. Those self-same TEACHERS and educators HELP YOU if you (having emotional intelligence) ASK THEM.for HELP. My respect for TEACHERS waa always high, but grew as I listened to their PASSION and positivity when speaking about the "joy" of reaching the RARE CHILD who wants to learn..i encourage parents to initiate conversations with teachers and ASK for their help in how YOU can help your child gain the most from the hours they are in the care of these remarkable human beings, for any child who retains that flame is luckier than those whose interests are later reignited by a brilliant teacher. The hundreds of educators i sought out (before, during and after my sons were homelearners) were each inspirational, encouraging and so passionate about inspiring kids. Help YOUR CHILD be the child OPEN to the myriad of life lessons (beyond the three R's) which brilliant teachers impart to all who are EAGER to learn.

Oh, man… Today, I tried to explain to my father how to optimize his fingerprint scanner. He refused listening to me, that's why at some point I decided to walk away from him and say out loud, “if you can't listen to me, I can't help you!” A few minutes later, he came into my room and kinda apologized for the fact that he was indeed NOT listening to me at some point - because of his impatience (I don't think he knows he's very impatient…). But he told me that he found out in the end how to do it exactly and that I helped him, and that his fingerprint scanner did really improve a lot. I'm not sure if I could've handled the situation better. He was straight up ignoring what I told him. He seemed very upset in a way. Maybe he wanted me to be in my room and working on something for university, productively? I don't know. But he was upset and therefore UNABLE to listen to me at some point. :/

Try to identify what is causing you to have an impulse. Can be an after effect from feeling frustrated or overwhelmed prior to your impulses, if so let the ppl around you know you are not feeling so well and ask them to give you some space if needed. Start keeping track of when you experience these and try to see if you can identify what may have triggered them & if there’s an on repeating pattern. Hope this helps 😊

Interesting idea. Since developing facial nerve pain (and more frequent and intense migraine) i find it difficult to maintain transcendence during the practise of Transcendental Meditation. When asked what to do when the nerve pain interupts/demands attention, the teacher suggests i simply and gently "return to my mantra", yet with the severity of pain "noticed" i find it well-nigh impossible to tear my focus away from the physical sensation of acute (unmedicated) pain. I have (successfully) meditated IF i ask my son to perform upon me TWO delicate cranial suture adjustments which lessen my nausea and pain significantly; or, if i meditate upon awakening at 3:30 am. Since i exercise daily in a fasted state(as this is so beneficial in a myriad of ways) i can now try to meditate after completing the most aerobic exercise of each day. Thanks for the inspiration.

Now-A-days some people lash out at others and is quick to fire back to defend themselves. It's never A good feeling to be in this situation especially in A working environment. I can really relate to this, when you can recognize specific details what's happening and what others are trying to say or do to you; it gives you A different perspective approaches on how to respond in many different ways for others that can understand you a lot better. You can't force things to happen, it can either work or not work and sometimes you are going to have to make tough decisions that benefits from you even if you don't like it. The longer you surround yourself to others that are toxic especially with co-workers, the more likely you will feel useless and unheard. Knowing when and where to spend most of your time and energy will help you to keep moving forward. You can't force change, positive changes happens naturally and you will know straight off the bat if it is authentic.

Have you ever known a person who is perfect on the outside with everyone he/she meets, always says the right thing, always considerate to everyone, has a great big smile, and then when you're home alone with them they turn into the monster you know. He physically abuses you, makes you feel like you're not good enough and tries to convince you that people don't like you. And when you try to tell people who they really are, they don't believe you because they think he is the person they think they know. My step-dad, who was a cop, would pass this "Emotional Intelligence skills" with flying colors. But, he was a psychopath. He knew what people felt. He used those skills to manipulate people into liking him. He tried to kill me. I secretly listened as a psychologist ask him questions knowing he had killed people before, wanted to kill me then and then asked him if he felt any remorse. My step dad said he had no remorse. I was strongly advised by that psychologist to get as far away from my step dad as possible because he is dangerous. Having to hear these "tips" on being "emotionally intelligent" is like a "how to" for psychopaths who want to manipulate people in order to hide their true self. To be more like my step dad. Shame on you!!!
