Something id like to add. Ive never set up at a card show, but having to been to card shows I know that it's helpful if the seller asks if there is anything I'm looking for. Not being pushy, just a simple "hey how are ya? What are you looking for?" ....i have a very specific collection and there have been times where what I was looking for isn't in the case or on the table due to lack of room, but ends up being in a bag or box behind the table.

This is great advice! Back in the pre-pandemic days, I used to have to ask some dealers if they had basketball behind the table LOL

When I set up as a vendor, I usually say something like "how's it going" and "if you have any questions, just let me know".

Great video, thanks for all the info! Any chance you've done a multiple day show or have insider information? The first local show with space for me is a freaking 10x10 booth at Chicago Sport's Spectacular so it'll be insane, but hopefully I can handle it. I think dealers use "body bags" for show cases. You could also wrap up some value boxes on the table. I'm mostly curious if you had lots of extra boxes of cards, is it typical for people to literally just throw a tarp on it? It seems like videos I see, maybe even Dave & Adams could just be throwing a large tarp over all of their sealed hobby boxes? Seems crazy and like any dealer could snatch up items.. but maybe they just have an employee there for every hour of dealer setup time each day and it works out fine.

I've never set up at a multi-day show that big. Your best bet is to check with the promoter or see if you can find one of the other dealers that normally sets up there. Sorry - I wish I could be more help! Good luck!

Great info. I have set up at a handful of shows and experienced some of the things you mentioned. I am currently trying to get out of the hobby but it's like a drug, hard to kick the habit.

Thanks for tuning in! I don't know your specific situation, but there are always ways to pivot and enjoy the hobby in different ways. Whatever happens, I hope it all works out for you!
