Just back from Panama City. (Obarrio - near the area of this video). Uber works well, and not expensive. Food prices vary from not so expensive to over the top. We felt safe - and welcome. Panamá es un gran lugar, and you can use English in most cases.

That's true, even in Panama wheater have high humity, sunny and 30 to 35 celcius, panamanians usually wear jeans(yes I know sounds crazy), specially in the city because work or one of the reason is that goverment buildings did not allow shorts in 90's until today(yes sounds stupid but It's what it is) , so I guess it's become in a some kind of common tradition with pass of decades (tourists don't worry about that). Usually we wear shorts for trecking, walking, trips to mountains, beaches, rivers, etc), sports and home. Specially on weekends.

Just an FYI, Dont walk around with nice watches, you will get robbed anywhere, the odds are low but they do not discriminate on location, you are just putting a target on yourself, also nice cars stand out here more than anything, so if you are driving a nice car, do not park in shady area or places that dont have alot of foot trafic, Panama is very safe, but if you go around flashing nice stuff you will just temp people to do things.

Panama City was a lot cheaper when I was there in 2003. I was staying at Hotel Marbella for $27 a night and I could get a hamburger and soda combo for $1. From what I've heard, it's gotten more expensive since then. I didn't get to visit nearby Colón, but I met some white Mormon dudes who had served their 2-year mission there and they said they had no problems.

If its a B its most likely pronounced "Valboa"
@sunshinepty
2 жыл бұрын
That is not completly correct... The balboa was one of Panama's legal tender currencies along with the United States dollar . Its ISO 4217 code is PAB and its current value is now half a dollar (.50) cent, although it is not use comonly any more you can still get them when receiving change so you will not see PAB in stores and sup you will see the price only in US dollars (3.50)... the coin with the gold is a Martinelli not a balboa and it was put in place by president Martinelli when he was president and the value is a dollar, it does not mean that you need to change your US dollar for that, no one here takes that coin seriously..🤣 The Martinelli coin will be privided to you as you spend money they will give it to you as a dollar change if you say nothing. When leaving the country just change any coins you may have to dollars.. it can be done at any local Sup. Or bank, o and the lb you saw beside the price means pounds as in 0.45 cent the pound. Love your content good work.👏🏾👏🏾
