If you guys are beginner photographers it's a better to take pictures of a person using a plain background. Also if you want to keep the photo straight you can line things up using lines on a brick wall or a wall with paneling.

Can you do a video on how to do this kind of thing with an iPhone or a lower grade camera? I can’t afford a super expensive camera (saving up!) but I have an iPhone X and I’m really trying to get into photography...but I just don’t have a super cool camera like this. Love your vids! ❤️

Hey Shelby, really nice detail in this video, love Mackenzie in the floral shots in the craft store. The details about setting the ISO was of great help and making sure to cover the differences you might encounter from a day shot to an evening shot was key. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. Loved the skiing in Utah with your Sis. Looking forward to your next upload.

One thing I like to do is to get almost directly under a still subject(like a coke mug) and shoot in portrait, then it makes the subject look large and imposing instead of shooting it on landscape wide. Its kind of similar to the staircase shot except the subject is the entire photo.

Another Photography Tip: If you can't afford a 24-70mm lens and a Canon 5d mark iv (the camera Shelby has), you can use a crop sensor camera like the Canon Rebel T5i or Canon 80d with an 18-55mm or an 18-135mm and shoot at low angles to get those nice fashion photos

When framing models don't cut where their joints are because it will look not look natural, when editing photos make sure you have a consistent edit; basically if all photos are from same shoot (where model has the same outfit) you should have same color grade...It's so much more eye pleasing to see them consistent. When composing your model it's always better to make them look at the side of the frame where there is more space, If they look at the side where there is less space it will feel claustrophobic. Don't mess too much with skin tones so they turn out pale or orange (edit your photos selectively). Always make sure your focus is on point and preferably on peoples eyes (they draw the most attention); you can even enhance them in Photoshop/Lightroom. If models (usually friends who are not natural at modeling) are nervous and not relaxed during the shoot make them do stuff they are good at and then just take photos of them doing that. For instance maybe your friend is not natural at modeling and posing but he's maybe good at basketball so you can take photos of them playing basketball, holding the ball, dunking...etc.They will feel much more relaxed and photos will turn out better. Comunicate with your models, don't just stand quietly behind the camera, people love to hear when they are doing a good job; tell them they look nice, that certain pose looks good, just make a feedback about poses and photos you take (it will make them more confident when they know they are doing it good). Hope this helps to you guys :)
