What? Michigan makes it illegal to read a news paper in the middle of the street? Damn, now I have to sit on the benches on the sidewalk.

The women drivers law is funny as hell. Didn't know about the goat for Florida, thought it was only with Gators and Elephants.

Portugal, this only apply to Lisbon, the capital. It is/was illegal to reverse more than 2 or 3 lengths of the vehicle! I don't recall the precise value. I also don't know if it's still an active law. At least it was active when I took my drivers license almost 40 years ago! I recall learning that as part of my drivers training! Curiously knowing how chaotic the traffic was in the city in those days. It even made sense! ;-)

Virginia sucks, anything above 80 is reckless and 15 over is reckless and the problem with that is the highways regularly change from 55 to 70 and back to purposely catch you in a reckless

Indiana's stupid car sales law is also in Texas. It's a result of bible thumpers getting their way in city laws. The forced closures of car and RV dealers on Sundays is because of old church laws. I wish the state would overturn those. I found out the hard way when I wanted to shop for a new car but the only free day I had was Sunday. The dealers were all closed. People just parked their cars next to the lot and climbed over the protective gate to get a good look at the cars. Then they would call the dealer the following Saturday for a test drive, LOL. One dealer was sly and would actually leave a car with the doors unlocked but it had a wheel bumper to prevent it from being towed. I found out why this was handy: everyone could get a feel for the car and would have an idea how to adapt to it during the test drive. I believe it was a Saturn dealer.
