One little tip for folks who might have a specific day of the week where they don't have time to hobby, but they do have time to miss hobby, is make that your planning day. Think about the next week and what you want to do, ensure you have the stuff you need all organized. It plays really well with the 20 second rule.

I feel that intro so well... I spent several days reorganizing my hobby room after doing my pile of shame video... It's still not where I'd like it, but I can find everything within a minute. I love having a variety of painting projects for the future, but I keep current builds on their own shelf for easy access.

Love this, got a couple of small glass trays for projects on my pegboard, great idea to keep them in plain sight!

I really liked that the cookie came back in the end. I didn't expected that :D I have a hobby table, which is a bit cluttered but I inly have the two or three projects on it, this way I only have to pick up the brush and start painting. I guess that counts towards 20 second rule. What really worked for me to keep me motivated is hobby streak. The original version of this that you should do a minimum amount of hobbing each day and see how long you can go without missing a day. I didn't liked this, because in my view you are setting yourself up to failure. Instead I do it as a challange and I try to do a 100 day hobby streak, and do at least 30 minutes painting or building each day. I also have a side challange to do a 6 hour day, then two 5 hour days etc down to 1 hour days. This is something I can complete and feel good about it in the end. And if I fail, well at least I finsihed a couple of models anyway :)

Thanks Oli! The intro was great. Also enjoyed the outtakes. Presently the biggest obstacle I have for my hobby is that I don’t have a dedicated paint space. I think yours is really slick 👍

I can relate to that, for a while I didn't have either. A while ago I've seen this video, maybe you find some useful tips in there: kzitem.info/news/bejne/lHuhqKV3g1-Zkoo

The skill gap is real with #4. I find it _incredibly_ off putting sometimes, feeling like I'm doing my plastic boys a disservice by not painting up to standard. It's kind of way I prefer to find the channels that are okay painters, and use them as a more reasonable measuring stick as to what can be done in a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise there's a real risk of choice paralysis and burn out before you even begin. It's why sometimes I bemoan GW's lack of cheap kits just to sit down and practice with: I would kill for a kit of cheaper, lower detail marines which I won't mind fucking up on.

So to paint you need a room. Special drawers. Dedicated time etc. Kind of explains why l haven't painted a model in 23 years.

Absolutely not! While these things can help, these tips should be applicable regardless of your hobby space!
