I found the two brothers to be kind of douches... Is nobody's job to protect you... and yeah.. you kinda should protect your family.. but demanding his brothers protection while the protagonist is doing nothing to defend himself, just makes him look like a crybaby, And them cutting his brother from his life because he didn't meet his imaginary expectations while never talking to him about his problem with him or the bully... To the person living with Devon (story 5): First, go to your mom and tell her everything. Next, call an exterminator (make sure NOT to tell Devon!!) and tell then you believe there an animal (say raccoon or opossum) is in the attic and tell them you think theres more than one and that you think one died. Have THEM check it out, so that if there's something nasty up there (like the body of his ex) they'll find out and if Devon comes home, you'll be surrounded by other people. @@MrKMPT If I were him, I'd welcome my bro back.....provided his friend isn't in the picture, but the dude made his choice to not be there for his little bro when that guy hurt him. HE gave up his family - just walked away -, to hang with that asshole. Why shouldn't ill bro distance himself from someone who allows others to abuse their LOVED ONES? And yes, I actually had to cut off some people: one a neice who was severely messed up on drugs ans alcohol. She stole from me, my mom and our other sister. She Also tried to sleep with my AND my eldest sister's husband's. She even showed someone where she hid her house key when she was living with my parents....... and the fucker came in and robbed us! When I confronted her, she attacked me, screaming obscenities, saying it was my fault the house had been robbed (tweaker logic), so I booted her ass and cut ALL ties. So did my sister's, after she ripped them off too. I also cut out my middle (alcoholic) sister because she refused to help take care of our Very sick, terminally ill mother - whom she hadn't even visited for over FOUR YEARS, leaving me and me alone to take care of her food, cleaning, pets and everything else you can think of(dad was working overtime to pay for her mounting bills. Neither of my sister's lifted one finger to help). She liked to call once a week to whine about her life to mom and tell me how bad a job I was doing for mom, while she sat on her ass, drinking. She then accused me of STEALING HER INHERITANCE when mom died ( I actually gave her More then mom had dictated in her will, because I felt she deserved her fair share). She went out of her way to imply I LET OUR MOM DIE so I could have everything, (then actually accused me and my father of killing her!) Even my neice came out of the woodwork, hoping my mom had left her tweaker ass some money, but quickly left, pissed off when she found out there wasnt any money for her, just some family momento's. Middle sister felt she deserved HALF OF EVERYTHING, just because and when that didn't happen, her and my beice did their best to ruin my rep, my dad's rep and my life. So.....do these people deserve to be in my life? In my child's life? Do they deserve my tolerance? Hell no! Their parasites, plain and simple. And their abusers, both physical and emotional. These people are the reason I have ZERO tolerance for mooches and abusers.

If I lived with strangers I'd have a deadbolt on my door out of paranoia. Just some deep unsettled feeling abt everyone not close enough to me to feel like family. (I sometimes wished I had a deadbolt while living with my siblings as one of my older brothers used to steal money from everyone and try to play the victim: like he needed it without trying to justify it) I'm glad she pressed charges, and a little sad he lost the eye, I would not wish that on my worst enemy; however it was self defense and survival

I had to cover my ears after hearing the part about the eyeball popping out...whether it was true or not, I have such a graphic mind that the imagery nearly made me gag - it was like the equivalent of shielding one's eyes to avoid the gore in a movie and just peeking through fingers to see if the scene is over. GROSS!

The guy in the Devon story should call the police and tell them there is something suspicious in his room. Also, regarding the first story, I once took a criminal justice course in community college and my teacher was a former LAPD sergeant. He showed the class some crime scene photos and in one of them, a young woman was dead and her eye had come out of her skull. It didn't dangle like in cartoons. There's muscle and stuff attached to it.

...so that first story... she ended up getting married to her neighbor (who was a guy) after she said she was into girls earlier in the story. I'm not saying she couldn't have found out later she was actually bisexual, but she didn't state that in her story which makes it hard to believe on top of her popping out and mangling someone's eye. I'm not someone who usually tries to call out someone on their stories. Crazy stories can be hard to believe but they do happen. My only thing is if your going to tell a story and take some creative liberties, at least make it more believable by making the events consistent. Also, the story about the sleepwalking room mate: did the police contact the guys family before the roommate did? And why did it take so long to find him? I'm pretty sure the writer said nobody saw him in days.

Humans aren't robots, they aren't stagnant and they aren't consistent. Frustrating, I know, because we have a natural desire for things to make sense, and inconsistency really doesn't help with that, but.... it happens. I do agree that she made it sound like she was certain about not being into guys, but maybe she'd just confused her lack of attraction to the men she'd met so far as disinterest. I'm not in her head or anything so I can't claim to know better than what she's said, but she didn't really mention anything like being actively interested in a girl, or having a history of dating girls, or something like that. The husband + kid seemed pretty out of left field.
@caramelcupcake1275

@@HexIsme see it's not a problem that she changed her mind about being lesbian, but for the narrative to flow smoothly and remain consistent, an explanation should've been given even if it's just a simple "I realised later that I'm bisexual." It would've made sense, but without an explanation that last part doesn't fit well with the narrative cause it's completely out of place

Okay, I don't believe the first story. I was willing to believe until the cops picked him up and brought him back, dangling eyeball and all, to be identified. My suspension of disbelief was further damaged by his prison sentence. Decades for attempted murder? In which state? I mean, it *should* carry that harsh a sentence, but it doesn't. He would have gotten *maybe* 5 years- 10, if the judge was in the mood to set an example that particular day. And he bullied an *entire* town from a distance? Who was this guy? Ken McElroy? I'm not even going to touch the fact that the self-proclaimed lesbian married a man (that's actually among the least unbelievable parts of this story). I'm pretty sure this is a rough draft of a short story.
