What if you yell at ur kids everyday Sometimes going too far and saying that they're a worthless piece of trash? What if you told them that they were nothing more than a burden? What if you take the side of they're younger sibling wether he's right or not? What if you tell them that they're lazy and inconsiderate after they did all of your chores ( including their siblings and theirs. Did i mention yours?) And you yell at them because you just want to take out your frustrations on someone? You tell them to go away because they always they to get your attention? You over react when they ignore you You pull out her hair, you curse at them FOR NO REASON AT ALL You tell them to leave the house in the middle of the night Forcing them to pack they're bags and hit the road But realizing that they might go to jail for it they drag their ass back make them stay Then that kid would cut because the PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND THE MENTAL pain from home and school is killing them And when you realize that the kid is cutting you yell at them for it. Saying that she only wants attention Shes worthless Shes a burden Shes wrong She was a mistake And you almost send them to rehab And two months later you're still doing what caused them to cut And that kid is emotionally damaged She thinks shes insane She believed all of the lies All the horrible things that come out of your and other peoples mouths She cant cut, knowing that you would do something worse than before The only thing in her mind was that moment And almost everyone in ur family knows that she cut And its her fault Because she was a worthless piece of shit And everyday theyre tempted After all, The knife was only a room away The bleach was only a cabinet away And nirvana was only a death away from them

I raised a step child and 2 biological children, along with many cousins and nieces and nephews. I gave them all 3 rules, plus taught them that no matter what if they tell me the truth then they don't get in trouble and we'll work it out together, however if they lied it was double trouble. The rules I gave them were to live by and all have turned into very successful hard working honest adults. If they ever got in a situation that was troubling I would give them 3 options that I could handle and let them pick the one they could live with, to teach them how to deal with difficult problems. And I never hit any of them. Rules to live by: 1. Treat everyone exactly how you wish to be treated. 2. If it's not yours, do not touch it. 3. If you wouldn't do it with me watching, then never do it. We had our ups and downs, but like I said, they're grown now. And I feel good about the people I turned loose on the world. Plus I drank! (NO not really! But a sense of humor is also very important! )

My parents tried to keepy sister and I from fighting, but considering she was bossy and stubborn and I was submissive and sensitive, it soon became very unfair. Eventually I was expected to behave all the time, and whenever she did anything irritating, my parents blew it off as, "Oh, that's just her being her. Can't really change it." Yeah, that's fair. Now she gets to come crying to you all she wants, while I get yelled at for having even the smallest upset. Do yourself and your kids a favor. Keep up a constant expectation for BOTH of them to behave, lest one becomes even more stubborn and the other starts resenting the inequality.

"Why?" would you ask, because since the very past it's the tradition for them to educate their child to become a good child "You could call them turning them into robots". But so sorry, it's normal and usually can't be prevented. Even by calling police. Anyway, greetings from Indonesia. So sorry.

I go to singing lessons and my mum keeps saying, `Look at those children! They are younger than you an don't go to singing lessons, yet they are better than you!!' Then my teacher keeps telling her that she needs to stop or I will end up not being good at singing. My mum doesn't listen AT ALL. Every single time she says that, I get worse at singing.

That is not ok at all, your mom is projecting on you and that is a sign of real trauma within her. Try to do some research, try reading any of John Bradshaw or Daniel Siegel books on what a healthy relationship looks like because what she is doing will cause ongoing trauma in your self concept if you don’t become aware of what is happening

3 and 2. If ur gentle like that, the child will think that he/she can do it again because their mom will be nice no matter what so bad idea 1. Dont do anything about it but keep reminding them. Eventually no plates will be left and they cant eat, so it's up to them to do it

You gotta let siblings work out their own issues. Obviously you must step in if it becomes abusive or if one is constantly getting a raw deal but sibling rivalries, within normal limits, teach children important social skills. It teaches them to negotiate & it teaches them that they don't always get things their way. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't & sometimes a compromise makes both kinda happy. An adult stepping in at every little disagreement robs kids of the opportunity to learn important social skills.

I think it depends on how the child is, parenting won't make huge changes in character. If the child doesn't respect you, and is very stubborn, it's a really difficult thing to change that. You can't beat it into them either, that means they fear you, not respect

Alright I have a problem with the "disrespectful attitude" one as a teen I can tell you I sometimes snap at my mother but then again growing up in an Latino household I get automatically screamed at even if I try to apologize. It makes me so frustrated when I sometimes snap when I don't mean to and it turns into this whole situation. And when I do finally apologize she just stays mad and walks away. So if you are a parent please *listen to your child when they do something it may be a cry for help*. I'm gonna go off a little also, I have been feeling somewhat depressed and I can't tell mother because she barely listens and that just makes the problem worse. If your child is trying to say something to you *listen to them*

Just put up a scale for the sins the child did. 1-10. 10 has the worst punishment. 1.Drop and do 25 push ups 2.Clean dishes (unless there like 3 0.0) 3.Lose JUNK FOOD privilidges. 4.Make the child stare at a empty iPad screen (ran out of batteries) 5.Make them sit on the toilet for 15 min with nothing..yeah. 6.Dont let the child go anywhere, make the child clean or help out with stuff. 7.Stand for 20 minutes with a sibling/parent talking to them about the problem. (Deepens incoming d:) 8.25 jumping jacks,25 push ups,25 sit ups. 9.Take away the charger (all of dem.) 10.Shut down the wifi, and take away the devices just in case they have data (or games that don't need wifi)

1:20 LOL! When I was a kid at least 50% of the school were kids who stole just everything even in front of your eyes during lesson! My mom used to buy to me little padlocks for my bag and still I was coming home missing things sometimes and I couldn't go to school with nice pencils, or rubbers or sharpeners e.t.c and with more than 2-3 euros in my pockets otherwise all of my things would disappear. Is that normal? Has anyone experience something like that during their childhood?

Whining was never a problem for my kid,but once I guess in an emotional breakdown, I saw it coming. She was just stomping and crying, upset, acting like I didn't understand her. I made it clear to her that if she doesn't take a breathe and calm down, I will not understand what she needs because I cannot understand her this way. And so she took a breathe. I coached her into pacing her words more calm and steady and she told me what she needed. Worked like a charm. It really made communication between us very easy.

Either way you still get in trouble, at least I speak the truth unlike others in my class who deny everything 2: I try so hard not to interrupt my mom on the phone (she is always on it) 1: I already have manners.

kay but my parents always taught me to be respectful and respectable. I've never gotten grounded. if I started to cry in public, they'd take me aside and wait until I calmed down. If I whined about wanting something in a store, we would leave the store, regardless if we were done or not. (also on the topic of shopping idk if parents don't do this but let your kid choose their own clothes no matter what theyre the ones wearing it after all, if your son wants a skirt go for it kiddo he looks *fabulous*) when I got older, they would treat me like an adult and not a child like a buncha parents do. if you expect your kiddo to respect you then you have to understand that you have to earn it just like everything else. pushing it out of your vajay-jay doesnt mean you own them or that they have to respect you and do every single thing you tell them to, down to the last letter. kids will be kids. because theyre young. everyone does stupid shit when theyre young. even you, so get off your parental high horse and take lil jimmy out for ice cream
