Thank you for doing this video! I hope many more Japanese people demand plant based food. Even with a car, it was almost impossible to be vegan unless you cook for yourself unfortunately. Of the vegan restaurants we got to eat at though in Kyoto, Kobe, Yamanashi and Maebashi, it was the best vegan food I’ve had. Very impressed.

Yes, as I saw some information that you can find plant based foods in conveneince stores but most of them introduced in some sites looked like using fish in dashi, and some restaurants can be very expensive to eat. I'm glad you found some great vegan restaurants during your trip. :)

We ate A LOT of kombu and yasai (this green veggie) flavor onigiri from grocery stores and convenience stores. I was so glad to have prepared quick oats, flaxmeal, pumpkin seeds and some vegan canned foods for breakfast at all lodgings since they all provide a kettle for hot water.

Thank you so much for this video! I have been vegan for 6 years (more recently started eating eggs), and I am going to eat meat and fish when I go to Japan in August but this video still gives me some great options to eat out when I want some vegan food again!

Thank you Kenchan. Your videos are genuine and helpful with the viewer in mind. I look forward to learning about more special eating places such as Umenohana a tube restaurant that I heard about. I plan to visit as a solo traveler and was informed restaurants ask for a Japan telephone number for a reservation. Can you comment. I won’t have a Japan telephone number other than my hotel. Thank you again for intelligent and informative videos about Japan.

Thank you for your kind message about my video. I appreciate you taking time for giving me a feedback. As for the reservation, it depens on the sites and stores that you make reservation. You can tell them the hotel information or your country's phone number. If they say they need Japanese phone number no matter what, probably you can avoid that restaurants. Please let me know if you enconter any restaurants that you cannot make reservation because of that.
