Thank you, Pastor Wolfmueller. You have no idea how much your cogent teaching has influenced me. Southern Baptist Preacher’s kid turned Lutheran around 5-7 years ago. I am 42 years old (2019). Love you, brother. Jacobb

Lutherans have taught me the importance of verbs and who runs them. When God so loves...that is gospel, when we are called to love that is law. Keep up the good work

Excellent - love is more than just a feeling or cognitive thing, but an action shaped by the Commandments.

1b Grace to you and peace. 2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. 4 For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. Amen Dear Pastor. Amen.

We have a tendency to look at love as the "Greek-andised" version of love which is emotive. You can only describe Love by looking at it as listed as the fruit of the Spirit: love is patient love is kind... Forgiving keeps no record of wrong. God is love. Greater love has no man than he lay down his life for his friends... There can often be a sacrificial component to love. But we need to try to step away from the focus on the Eros, Phileo, Storge' aspects of love and focus more on Agape. Three describe more feelings... Where love IS an action (word).

Christ never said any anti-government type things. On the other hand the apostles that learned for him all subjected themselves to the government recognizing that God puts people into positions of authority and the apostles didn't reject imprisonment and other forceful measures from a government that was very hostile to them.

if you love god and you love your neighbor how could you want to covet your neighbors wife ? all the other commandments are very negative DO NOT thats why I belive jesus didnt even go to them. And I thought Jesus came to get rid of the OLD TESTAMENT LAWS ? like the NOAHIDE LAWS that arent even in the bible .

I don't think that is caused by not loving themselves but because their depressed. Which I mean to say that depression doesn't neccesarily = not loving yourself. In that the depressed person does it because they are innately unhappy for one reason or another. But if given the chance everyone would leave that depression and just be happy if they could and would go to great lengths to leave that depression if they had faith that the method would work. Where if they hated themselves they would proactively go against having a mental well being and keep themselves in depression and work against their own goals.

Jesus said greatest two Commandments summarize all law and Prophets and tithing is robbery of Honor thy parents command but many churches don't do these things because they've already broken all three hirelings come out of her my people or suffer her plagues
