Probably accidental. They worked around removing camel poop and realised they aren't getting dysentery. So logically, others wanted the poop.

Omg. Ya had me unsurprised right up until Michael did the...poop push? Yep, THAT interpretation of the beetle initiating the frog to push him out did it. That gives me the chills just remembering it. Thanks for that. I'm grateful that I'm neither the frog nor the beetle in that story.

The wastewater treatment plant for our region is right in my suburb! I love it and visit it every time it opens for visitors to see how it all works! The produced methane is trapped to generate electricity for the plant and after many, many stages the end runoff gets fed to a wasabi field before being released into the ocean. That shit's so cool! :P

Just because shrews are small and furry with longish tails (depending on the species) and long, pointy whiskery noses does not make them rodents. They're not, not even remotely, other than they are both placental mammals. They're actually more closely related to primates like us, especiallytree shrews. They may be the closest living group to the primates in fact.

Speaking of dysentery.... Graham Chapman of Monty Python was actually a trained medical doctor (he got his degree, but went on to write comedy instead of finishing his post-doctoral training). He was both the main star of "Life of Brian" and the staff physician. When he was off-camera, one of the main things he treated people for was dysentery (and scorpion stings, being in Tunisia). Pretty cool, huh?

They got rid of Scishow Quiz show and Scishow Talk show as a business decision. If you compare the view counts on Quiz show and Talk show episodes to normal Scishow videos, you’ll find that the quiz shows and talk shows generally have MUCH lower views It’s a pity cause I loved those quiz shows, but apparently they’re just less attractive to general audiences. Maybe their long length deters people from clicking on them

Successive series of people handled the camel's poop while fertilizing their plants, or doing other tasks, AND forgot to wash or clean their hands. Someone realized that people survived from handling the camel's poop, especially when the poop is fresh! And Voila!

I took a poo in the YMCA swimming pool once and blamed it on a kid that was trying to make moves on my gf(the most popular girl at day camp). I ended his whole career with a single poo and some swift thinking. First off...who was the first guy thought. I think I'll just eat some camel poo, I mean sure why not. Secondly I am thrown back to memory as a kid when my older siblings tried to get me to eat garbage flies by acting like they were eating them. Makes me think solders must been thinking the same thing. "Camel poop, really?" "Oh sure, giggle giggle, it really helps giggle giggle go ahead and try it, giggle". And third...I was eating lunch damn it!

Pandas wouldn't ordinarily live near horses, so they would have never had the opportunity to roll in the poop, meaning the trait wouldn't have died out. Pandas probably just do it because it feels good, sort of like how people do drugs because it feels good.

Dysentery is a hideous illness with high fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea filled with blood and mucus etc.. Who was the person with those symptoms and then had a hankering to eat ANYTHING! much less camel dung ? And fresh dung even !?! The only thing I can imagine is possibly a dog or some other animals know to have diarrhea were seen eating the camel dung and then their condition improved. Do dogs or other domesticated animals get dysentery?
