Final Fantasy 14 has MANY weird and comical weapons, for sure. I still startle a bit every time I see that Conjurer staff that LOOKS BACK AT YOU. If I remember right, it also makes a unique sound if you auto attack with it - most staves get a "bonk" sound effect but I think (and I could easily be wrong) that staff yelps "ouch!" And I screeched out CHICKEN KNIFE when that showed on screen. Both the silliest thing in my glam collection AND the most awful attack in Shadowbringers as far as I'm concerned. FFXI I must have sunk hundreds of hours into back in the day, and I always felt like it's lore had this mysterious, eldritch, bleak vibe to it while it's story due to the time sink and difficulty soloing that game made you earn becoming a hero from a nobody. It's really unique in the series even with 14 around (cause that game is designed to be, wisely for retaining a big audience imo, way more user friendly and soloable) and I wish more people had embraced it instead of turning up their nose at it. They really missed a unique story, lore and overall immersive experience that'll probably never happen the way XI did again.
