I have a couple of those coaches from about 30 years ago as you suggested. What a great idea for enhancing them. Thanks for sharing. Roy.

I have some of those Railroad LNER teaks from an old Flying Scotsman set. I also have the posh ones which I've lightly weathered, especially their roofs. I also have a set of wood surface touch-up pens. Never thought of using them for this reason, so good tip. I'm getting from your accent you are not UK based, probably North America somewhere. Here in the UK, teak finished furniture is or certainly was very popular, so I'm sure teak touch-up pens should be available. I tried my hand at building an LNER teak pigeon van kit. I nailed the teak finished wood effect and the lining pen yellow first time of which I'm very chuffed. I've now purchased an Isinglass kit of the hairdresser's salon coach to test my newly found teak painting skills further.

I'm a displaced Brit, that's why I model British outline. I've been in US for 30+ years and moved around US a bit during that time so have a strange mix of accents. I'm currently in Rural South West Minnesota. Good luck with your kits.

Hi. Looked at your video last week. I tried your suggestion and it works extremely well. I also have the more recent teak coaches and the old coaches now compare favourably with them. I now have two rakes of realistic Gresley stock, thanks to you. Well done
