The DOT Report reviews cybersecurity headlines and news stories every month. Our April issue covers the breach that compromised over 70 million AT&T accounts, the social security numbers leaked in an attack against an economic consulting firm, the second (yes second) cyberattack that hit Roku in 2024, and wraps up with a brief overview of the phishing attack responsible for the stolen MFA security logs that affected 1% of Cisco Duo’s 100,000 accounts.
First, we look at the AT&T data breach which has now been confirmed as legitimate and is the first instance of AT&T admitting data privacy issues. Secondly, we review how over 300,000 social security numbers were leaked in the attack against the economic consulting firm, GMA. Then we take a look at the second cyberattack to hit TV streaming brand Roku, and lastly, we cover how a phishing scam compromised Cisco-Duo SMS-based MFA logs for nearly 1,000 accounts.
