Looking good, champ. All that sounds good. I still get nervous about teaching but it gets easier! I think one thing that helps me is that I don't put pressure on myself to know everything - cause that's not possible ;) On my best days, I'm confident enough and humble enough to create a space that's stimulating and even though I'm the teacher and I drop some knowledge, I am teachable. Plenty if not the majority of teachers, learn what they teach as they prepare the class. It's ok! You're doing great. Good to see you. The facial hair is coming in nicely!

Thanks, Earl. This helps. I remember from my time as a TA during my brief grad school stint-- to do what makes me happy and comfortable, and that authenticity shines through. It will be a great opportunity to develop deeper ease and proficiency with InDesign, which will feel great.

There’s a guy who did a Ted Talk all about how he purposely challenges himself and faces fear on a regular basis and how it’s completely improved his life. I don’t understand the “just add water” reference about your interview, but “quasi-bromance” I totally get. Sorry you didn’t get the job but I suspect there’s a better one in the near future 😉

Thanks, Jesse. I think the water reference is just how simple it can be for guys to embrace other guys. There seems to be this instant ease that I never experienced before (with men or women). Maybe that's a form of tenderness that is acceptable in the masc-world. I think it all worked out, job-wise. Getting this part-time teaching thing is a better move for me, even if (and because) it will challenge me to face a whole lotta fears. :)
