its not such a big deal my dear, you can do it and i hardly suggest you to do, at least try and you'll see how much you can feel free and much peaceful. actually doing something (reading a book, studying a topic you like, searching a topic that you've been always wondering, or if there any languages that you always wanted to learn; taking that small step and learn it, taking care of your body with workouts, yogas, meditations... doing things that you postponed to do) is feeling waaayy more better than just scrolling through your phone. you can do whatever you want! challenge yourself, do it and come back here n tell "u thought i wouldn't but i DID IT and have a wonderful time" to yourself.

You know what, maybe instead of not using it at all try using it less. I know that feeling that you want to get it and just scroll endlessly cause I’ve been feeling it all day recently but trust me it’s not worth it at all.. we’re missing a lot by just staying on phone 24/7. One of the things that’s been helping me is not using it for 1-2 hours after waking up and absolutely not picking it up the moment I wake up😂 that old friend won’t ask for forgiveness and no one’s dead so an hour or two more late to reply won’t really harm. Set a time when you can use the phone freely and without feeling guilty. I wake up at9 pick up my phone for the first time at 10:15 and use it for like 30mins and then do whatever I wanna do and at evening I can use it again as long as I wish. Good luck🫶.

I've been working on my screen time since may/june. i went from 10/8 to 2 hours a day. it gets easier, and its especially hard when you work from your phone. but it is possible. we all need to be more present in the moment, and journal & acknowledge our intrusive thoughts and get to the deeper reasonings. shadow work is powerful.

i'm so glad to finally be back on your channel!!! the last few weeks have been hectic for me and since then you posted three new videos! i can't wait to watch the two others during the next few days to help me get my life back together even more! this video motivated me trying to drastically reduce my screen time. i don't think that i'm really addicted to my phone but it's true that being in holiday since already more than three months, whenever i'm bored i check my phone and can spend hours on it just because i have nothing else to do (i live in a village so there's not much activity to do ahah and all my friends are busy so in the end it's just me and me). another big issue for me is that i have a syndrome since i'm a child which is maladive daydreaming and for me to daydream i need to listen to music. it's something really hard to control and i can just spend hours doing nothing in my room other than creating scenarios in my head while the music is playing. it's really problematic because it affects my productivity and it also affects my social life because i feel super bad when i cannot daydream. however, by doing this challenge, i know that i can try reducing this syndrome as i try doing other things! i'm only allowed to use my phone to meditate at night as it helps me falling asleep and to use duolingo to work on the languages i'm willing to learn! nevertheless, i can still use my computer to listen to music while doing chores and to watch youtube videos like yours to keep me motivated at trying new things to keep me away of boredom. the thing is that i ran out of books to read so i need to wait for my order to arrive😭 anyway, i'm so proud of you for being able to overcome this addiction! i hope that it will stay this way! i'm also proud of you for starting a new life!!! i truly hope that you will enjoy your new life and that your job will really please you, you deserve it! can't wait to follow your new adventures! now it's time for me to go back at my productive day without a phone! i already vacuumed my room and bathroom as well as repaired my bed and changed the bed sheets, it feels so nice!! now i'm going to clean my bathroom until it shines! have a good day you all and take care of yourself, you deserve it

Watching this video gives me the motivation to do something like that, but I would never have the strength. I love to listen to music and text/ft my friends and that’s the only way I can do that. I personally find you really strong for doing this. This video gives me motivation. I’m going to try to stop going to on my phone unless I’m talking to my friends, listening to music, or something actually productive (like duolingo lol). It really bothers me that our generation spends so much time on our phones. Phones are really helpful, but they are also the complete opposite. I’ll be hanging out with my friends and I’ll go on my phone. Even when I’m doing something I can’t just get off of it. My average screentime per day is usually somewhere around 3-5 hours. That’s 1/6 of my day. It just puts me down in the dumps when I think about how much of my life I’ve wasted scrolling on my phone. I just wanted to thank you because of your video I’m actually going to start to do something about my extreme phone habits.

i was just thinking about doing this actually! especially in the mornings/evenings when the day slows down. i like to pretend i’m living in the 80s or 90s where phones don’t exist, which can romanticize it. also! i have ocd and deal with distressing intrusive thoughts daily. meditation or even simple mindfulness can really help pull ourselves out of the rabbit hole without giving the thoughts too much importance.

I actually went to a SUPER fun summer camp in June and we weren't allowed to have our phones the WHOLE WEEK. I first I was like, "how will I survive??" But as the week started and went by, I realized, I did not miss my phone ONE BIT. I loved that camp and it opened me up to the natural world and I realized I really don't my phone. When I get it taken away by my parents now, I honestly don't care. 🤷♀️

But alhamdulillah i just got my new job for the first time after 2 years without job, also the first time i moved alone to capital city. This is my dream job and also i’ve been looooonging for this Jakarta Dreams. I was soooo excited and anxious about future. The first month of my job was already crazy, and you know what? 2. me being addicted to my phone is something i've given a lot of thought to in the past few months. it's like i can't even go to the bathroom without using my phone. when i was younger i didn't see any problem with that, but lately it just feels so frustrating and like i'm letting life go away because i'm too busy checking instagram for the 100th time. this video was really inspiring and i really like how honest you're always with us

i always used 2 put on my journal "routines", "no phone time", but i never did them @ all. my screen time is almost the same as urs b4 the challenge - youtube takes a lot of my time too. just listening 2 their voices is pleasant, so i put their videos like a background track when i'm doing nothing. but yes, i confess i'm addicted & now i really wanna change it! u inspired me, now i'm looking 4 more inspirations. {also, i thought this video was from 2019 b4 i saw the date. that minimalistic beige style is exactly the one i followed back then, b4 becoming the vintage 80s/emo pink i am now.} another edit: u made me feel better abt keeping rules! i thought "what if i need my phone 4 some college stuff?" but that's something essential i can allow. i still want some1 to release a flip phone that's only for calls, whatsapp and taxi/uber. i'd surely buy it

I completely impulsively deleted pretty much everyone (even my and my bfs family!!) from socials as well as deleted socials from my phone/the accounts and being bored has been SO amazing. Def hard rn but it gets easier by the day, I don’t even look for tiktok anymore :)

I really liked seeing this video, my screentime is never great but it's been particularly bad in the summer holiday so although I won't be able to do this (absolutely not losing my duolingo streak) I think I will try to keep it down to under half an hour for the last few days of the holiday. Also, if you ever feel able to, I'd recommend trying to replace instagram with herd social, since it's the same idea of photos you can look at, but it's designed specifically to try to avoid addiction to it. :)

One thing I have done to limit my phone time a bit, because most of the time I’m just on KZitem just scrolling through shorts because I don’t have TikTok. I put screen time limits on my phone for KZitem. And right now I have pressed ignore limit for 15 mins 😅😂. But I set my limit for 4 hours because I check comment reply’s and I check the progress of my videos so I need to use KZitem a bit more the average person that only watches videos

Great tip to fall asleep : count backwards from 100 to 0 if you don’t fall in sleep then do it 200 you can just increase the numbers and count them backwards until you fall asleep did it help you well it always helps me

im watching this video right now, and I’m thinking about doing this. I’ve been going through a lot this past month and it’s been making me have anxiety. I realize that I get drained trying to connect with people or keep up on social media after some time. I think enforcing some healthier habits like journaling in the morning or yoga at night to make me less anxious helps a lot and just being present.
