@@baldman357 Thanks. I wonder why the extensive information on the web page does not make that clear. Many security systems are based on Wi-Fi access. I have terrible service in both cases - cannot send phone pics from home via Verizon cell (short TXT OK, but not pics). My wi-fi is OK, if the device is in a certain place in the house, if not, Wi-Fi is problematic. Thanks for the info.

I've never milled my own wood but built numerous sheds/ cabins/ garages all with rough lumber milled locally and it's just so much more satisfying and looks so much better and so much nicer to work with etc. Looking at your wood shed you would never think to yourself " wow those pressured treated corner posts look fabulous and really stand out!' But looking at your own milled wood will keep you feeling satisfied for years as looks far superior

Good video Mike and Melissa. Mike, one trick I have used when working by myself on this type stuff. Clamp a 1ft 2x4 horizontally on each post at the line you have marked. It will act as a shelf and you can then lay the cross pieces on there and screw them in without having to move clamps for both boards on every post. Hope that made sense...

Ty, the new boss. Mike better tow the line now. 😁 As a retired police officer I can tell you back in my days of working the road, alarm companies took their time notifying the police department of an alarm. Some residents would ask how long it took us to respond to the alarm. Our average response time was 3 too 8 minutes but the alarm companies would tell them it took us 30 too 45 minutes to respond. Difference being the time the alarm companies got the notification and the actual time they informed the police department. I have a Simplisafe alarm on my Barndominium and love it! Say hello to Hunter for me. God bless you and your family.

Both DeWalt and Milwaukee are good. I have DeWalt, all DeWalt, because they all share the same 20v batteries. If you standardize on Milwaukee, then that's fine too. It's just that I don't want to have to keep track of two different sets of batteries and chargers. I truly wish that all batteries from across the different brands had the same connections. Whoever invents an adapter to make that reality will become rich.

Hi Guys another great show. Lovely to see your grandson. I used to use Dewalt but when I needed new batteries (old type) they were very expensive and the only other brand available was Makita and the battery prices was much less so I converted to the new at the time battery and purchased Makita and have been very happy with them. Mike you are using red pine as an apprentice joiner/cabinet maker ( I`m from the UK ) we used a lot of what we called red wood from the US and it looks exactly like what you are using as carchasing lumber

I bought a Ridgid combo kit that I liked the best but an old girlfriend hid them when I broke up with her. I have the 13 piece Dewalt Combo kit in the roll around box now that I will be sticking with and adding to. It has done everything I have asked it to do! Bought a drill with 2 more batteries because the drill was basically free, it became my go to drill and started me down the Ryobi road. For the price you can't beat them. I don't use them to earn a living so I don't know how they would hold up under that kind of use. But for me they work great.

Saw appears to have a blade brake. Great feature. Like the clamp and drill& screw system. Sometimes tap in a screw about a half inch at one end where the bottom of the next board goes, you can rest one end while clamping and screwing the other. Also I have used a clamp sticking out like a shelf to do this, too. Then you're only holding up the end you're working on. Baby looks cute. Raise him up on health food. Read Plant Paradox?

Mike just some suggestions: nails should be 1 1/2 to 2 times long as the board is thick. When you start nailing use spiral nails in green lumber just don’t plan on pulling it apart . That way as the lumber dries and moves the nails won’t back out. When you do your lay out mark the bottom of the nailer board and put a nail there to rest the board on. It would save you from going back an forth with clamps.

One of the truest indicators of "which brand" is to observe what professionals use. Day in and day out, I see contractors everywhere.........and by far the brand I see the most often is Hitachi (now Metabo HPT). And if you ever watch the tool comparisons, side by side comparisons, etc... Hitachi is always the "sleeper" or "surprise" that ends up finishing at or near the top. I have several Hitachi corded tools and they simply are reliable, no nonsense, quality tools. As for cordless, I too have fallen into the Dewalt camp as they have an all-around selection and quality that justifies sticking with "one battery" type. I know, I know......I'm a sellout. Lol.

I used green poplar for years on outbuildings, sheds, horse barns and turn out sheds. No issue as long as you brace properly so you reduce warping. Pre-drilling green wood is a little extra work but not absolutely needed. Shrinkage on non crital dimensions won't harm anything..you're not making furniture! DD
