Thank you for this video. I have been having problems with my attachments popping out of gear. I think you showed me exactly what my problem is.

YES! I just got a new to me custom model and this is exactly what I needed to see. I was all excited to have an easier to use PTO but it's actually harder to use than my other machine without the "pto rod" Time to get to work!

They tend to give me trouble a lot. The one I'm currently using right now is really sticky and hard to shut off.

@@evsnova74 After taking mine apart, it was in far superior condition to compared the one in the video :) The outer setscrew is missing, so the inner was loose causing play in the whole system and locking it up. Detents and spring are like new. The thing I have to worry about is the split roll pin that's sticking up, it has some play in it. Again, thanks for the video!

there should be .010 clearance between the body (shaft guide) and the cap or top where the ball rides between the detents. That is what the factory recommends.

I'm going through the same thing with my L8. This was totally helpful. Thanks so much. Subscribed.

Tiny Homesteaders great! I've gotten so much help from videos on here I figured I'd add to the wealth of knowledge.

Wear between the shipper shaft and it's guide supposedly can cause them to stick and not disengage or jump out of engagement while using. My shaft guide is worn and I am trying an experiment to see if a small piece of aluminum foil wrapped around the shaft can act as a shim to get more life out of worn parts.

I decided there was too much play between the remote shipper shaft lever and the pin it tries to swing around in an arc. I went to the hobby store and bought a length of 1/4" O.D. brass tubing with .014 walls. cut a short length and put it over the 3/16" diameter pin on top. Greased it up and now I can operate it with two finger tips pinching the sides of the push-pull ring. Of course, that short piece of tubing will pop up out of there in a minute or less, so I'm making a diamond shaped top cap plate to cover it and hold it in place. Making it out of a piece of 1/4" x 1-1/2" steel bar. It will get cut on an angle to the proper diamond shape and holes drilled on the ends. Also getting a 1/2" O.D. bushing to support the plate and longer screws. I'll probably have to cut the bushing down a bit. Looks like it will need to be about 1" long, maybe 1-1/8". The hobby store only had brass and aluminum tubes. I'll get stainless steel when they get it back in stock.

Sounds like a good idea. I was going to just fill the plate hole in with a welder but it would be harder to get it perfect that way.

@@evsnova74 Thanks for the up-vote. I just did it this afternoon. I think the sleeve around the pin acts like a bearing. It turns really smoothly. Also, I can't figure out why the hole in the lever is egg-shaped. I think just a simple rounded end slot with parallel sides would work better.

@@Bluuplanet if I'm not mistaken that's exactly how the later Kohler powered ones are.
