Honestly I think if you consider each individual fish you would never pair them together. But somehow I love this tank!

nice video... I have a 55 gallon with about 20 barbs > 12 of them are recently purchased small juveniles that I bought in groups of 3 or 4 over a few weeks time span to replace some of my older barbs who aged out after 3-4 yrs. Among the mature barbs I have 2 female tigers, 2 albinos, 1 green and 2 black ruby barbs. before purchasing the small juveniles I had 3 older males who were aging out with faded colors and were suddenly being targeted by a beautifully vibrant younger male. This vibrant male was nipping the older males tails to shreds but he never bothered the females nor the green, black rubies or albinos. Seems like he targeted the aging males on purpose to establish his dominance. I removed him and donated him to a local pet store allowing the older males were able to live out their remaining days in relative peace. now I have the new juveniles happily thriving with the older barbs. As they grow they'll test each other but as you stated, the aggression will be dispersed. I also have a rainbow shark who, on occasion, keeps the barbs in check without harming them. I attempted to keep a few cory catfish but the barbs nipped at them and eventually the cories DISAPPEARED!!!! 😒

Glad your barbs are all good now! My barbs picked on my cory cats too until I added the larger fish. Now their aggression keeps amongst themselves and my cory cats are much happier.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful tank, love your videos high-quality I have subbed! One question I had what filtration system do you run on the 75?
@thedirtytank
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I have too many filters.. 2 hang on back filters - Marina slim filters 1 external cannister filter - Penn plax cascade elite 1 internal filter with uv sterilizer The 2 hang on back filters aren't needed. I used them to jump start the cycle and now this tank is there home until I get another tank. (Fingers crossed the wife let's me!ha)

@@thedirtytank thanks for quick reply! More filtration is better than less…we all know that! I’ve kept fish all my life, had 9 tanks at one time. Now I have a 40 breeder planted community and a 5 gallon planted shrimp colony tank! Thanks again! Be nice to your wife this Christmas and maybe she’ll buckle! Lol. My wife bought me new lights for Christmas so I’m slowly easing in for another tank! Merry Christmas! God bless you and family and channel!

Hey! Yeah they tug at the plants all the time. They don't uproot any...except for the stem plants. I have to replant those often but most of my plants are Java fern, anubias, Crypt, and Amazon sword which last pretty well

I have fire mouths with ruby tetras, harlequins, Cory’s, and even pencilfish. They only are aggressive with each other for the most part. Every once and a while they will bother my banjo catfish and my butterfly cichlid but never and damage done
