I'm sure glad you decided to go ahead and make this video. I love ❤ the Mississippi River hill country of Perry and Cape Girardeau Counties. I've driven through all the little towns (and wide spots that used to be towns and are now just names) along Route C several times over the last 20 years. It is always a pretty drive, but especially nice in the fall. I've never taken the turn onto Route D and went up to Seventysix, though. I've thought about it, but always in too much hurry and decided to do it another time. I'm going to make a point of doing it next time I go through that area, maybe camp there. You briefly showed Brazeau. I recommend stopping at the Hemman Winery right on the curve there. It is in the 150-year-old general store building and is run by nice, friendly folks. They're only open weekends and Fridays from June through December. I recommend their Brazeau Blend, Country Days, and Cranberry. They also have pizza and other winery-type fare. Even if wine isn't your thing, it is worth a stop to see the old store building. I also recommend visiting the Lutheran Heritage Museum at Altenburg. They have a lot of interesting displays about the life of the German immigrants who settled that area in the 1830's and founded the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Not sure of the hours there. The Saxon Lutheran Memorial at Frohna is worth seeing as well. There are several old log houses, barns, and vintage farmstead. Thanks for showing the camping area at Seventysix CA. I hope you can do another trip there sometime and show some of the sites along Route C.
