What a hoot. I grew up doing these church skate nights and Amy music was a big part of it all. I would so love to see her return to her pride in Christ and in praise, calling upon the Lord, by name, and not the ambiguous media-safe terminology she uses now. Gary was a central figure in those early days and I miss him on the stage. In their happier days his influence was part of what made her who she was. I don’t see Vince encouraging her in her spiritual walk. We can continue to debate Amy’s direction, marriage choices and secular awards. I wouldn’t deny her the right to live how she wants, God knows my journey has been mixed. I guess us oldtimers still want to know if she’s the same girl at heart or not. I honestly don’t know but even so I love her work. Do I think the Jesus material was a means to an end? It’s possible. But it doesn’t diminish its power still in effect today. Just enjoy it on your own terms.
