De Quervain's Tenosynovitis is overuse injury to the thumb and wrist in which due to repeated overuse of thumb and wrist the tendons of extensors pollcis breves and abductor policies longus which helps to Extend and abduct the thumb get inflamed or get micro injury due to which there is dull pain present over the base of thumb. Carpenters ,golfers, office worker and those who spend their maximum time on phone are more prone to affect from this condition in which they use their hand and wrist very frequently. So today I'm going to share some tips and exercises which will help to relieve the symptoms.
So Before exercises we should follow some tips to relieve the pain severity as well as helps to heal the inflammation faster.
so We should have to avoids all those activities which is aggravating the symptoms and for this you can thumb Immobiliser as to avoids movements of thumb and wrist.
2. We should have to do icing 2-3 times a days which will heal the inflammation faster
After following all these tips and when pain getting better we move on to exercises
so 1st we do some gentle massage near base of thumb which will helps to enhance the localised blood circulation and heal the inflammation
2. Wrist Extensor stretch
3. Wrist flexor Stretch
4. Thumb Mobility Exercises- Extension mobility, Flexion Mobility, Abduction Mobility, Flexion+Ulnar Deviation
5. Thumb Resisted Extension
6. Thumb Resisted Abduction
