My first bike was a 02 Yamaha r1 back when I was 19 now I’m about to turn 25 and I still have it and a 04 Honda shadow. I want an upgrade though and it was between a Vulcan a boulevard and a vtx but I can’t decide which one I’d like better. Mainly want it for traveling long distances comfortably and without the rpms up there. Got any recommendations?

@@guthixwar44 I've been on a Boulevard, it was very comfortable. If you upgrade the seat on a VTX, it can be a lot of fun and a really smooth ride. Also, Honda makes the best, most reliable engines, something to consider. 👍

I was a commercial pilot, cropduster in Tasmania. I was sacked , bought a 93 Fat and a sidecar, commercial tours.. I was remanded in custody, life crashed lived in a tent. Learnt guitar, played in the street busking. Remanded in maximum prison 7 months. Later had to escape Tasmania, 20 years later I now have 11 Harleys mostly Evo's. Fats and a couple of Heritage. I belong to an MC but I agree, the long distance ride is at the top of the cake. I met a 79 year old biker that just got back from Southern California to Nova Scotia. 12 k round trip. This is how he lived. I'm 77 and ride about 4 times a week, but this guy was definitely at another level. He did all this riding on a 79 moto guzi. Owned it since that time.
@langhamp8912
6 ай бұрын
I'd put the long distance rider below the "guy who has a motorcycle as his only form of transportation." Rain, sun, snow, sleet; he's out there every day commuting on the weekdays and riding for fun on the weekends. One guy I met in Northern California was one above that. He had only a sportbike, rode it everyday to work, did Sunday morning rides, and frequently raced it (not a trackday but genuinely raced in one of the AFM classes) each year. I can't even think of the consequences if he crashed his bike.

Weekend Warrior here. Just started riding 2 years ago. I have a 2 year old, a pregnant wife, and a full-time job. For context, I am also a combat vet, which I only bring up because I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone. I ride to work when it's nice out and on weekends. My first bike was a Suzuki C90 and bought a 2009 Heritage Softail with 3200 miles on it last summer. It's an amazing bike and I will have it for a long time.

Grocery bags on my handle bars?! MAN I thought I’d was gonna get pulled over so many times for this! 😆 My personal opinion. The biggest biker is the one that lives for the ride. To work, get groceries, long trips, quick trips, random road? Go for it. My buddy needs a ride because his car broke down? Show up with a second helmet on my bike and he’s ready to fight! Man that was funny. This is also my personal opinion with full respect but little experience in the club side. And I’m now a weekend warrior biker.

I’m a life member of the CVMA. I’m probably closer to the weekend warrior now, but is only cause I’m pretty effed up. I started on an 83 CX650 Honda, got a Ninja 250 on good trade, then just got a nice 04 Sporty 883 on a different trade, and so far I've already ripped the whole bike apart, redone the timing, installed a new air cleaner, got some 40" drags, and did a oil change. Haven't even rode the bike with it in my name. Got it off a friend a rode it some but it needed work so I just knocked it out through the week. Was raised by Harley lovers, and I do love the classic plop plop, but I'm starting at an 883 because I only got about 6,000 miles under my belt on my previous bikes, but I also switched to a cruiser for comfort. The older guys in my family like their "Geezer Glides" and stuff but I'm a younger dude trying to get into it and honestly it's not as toxic as the dirt biking community when it comes to brand loyalty. Most dudes are either weekend warriors or dudes and chicks who just like HD. Me personally I try to keep my preferences open cause I'm not too opinionated to one brand of anything, but maybe the little 883 will who knows. If so I'll probably go to a Softtail or an early 2000's Dyna. I don't want amenities I want a fuckin bike lmao (not shitting on Ultra and Goldwing guys just poking fun I know your tempers aren't great)

Yeow Sose, I don't know what kind of Biker to call myself, I've been riding since I was 16, past my Bike test at 19, got my brand new 1200 Sportster in 1988 at 24, got my brand new 1340 Fatboy in 1992 at 28, had a serious accident at work in the Quarry left me with a crippled left leg so bought a 2007 Dyna Street Bob which was converted to a trike in 2015, Been Domestically Abused December 2014 through to September 2017 by my then wife of 16 years, During the last seven years since separation and getting my decree absolute just a few weeks ago I have been mentoring and supporting Men Who Themselves have suffered Domestic Abuse in the Compass Programme of which I solely helped to set up, while all along working on and making parts and constantly customising my Harley Dyna Monster Chopper Trike, Yeah I'm 60 now and I don't know what kind of Biker I am, But my Ol' Lady Jules tells me that I have nothing to prove, and to just keep limping like that Big Old Lion, Mike over here in Wales in the UK 👍🤘🏴

Yeah Sose, the first couple of years at the Quarry I drove the Dumper Trucks hauling rock to the crushers, then spent the next 20+ years in charge of Explosives Operations up until my accident on site in the bad snow and ice in which I slipped and shattered my left leg and my left foot was hanging off, which stopped me riding two wheels, so I converted to three wheels from there forward 👍🤘

I’ll throw myself into the weekend warrior club. 29 years married, we’ve owned a bike 28 of those years. Owned a BMW GS, Vstar, KLR, KLX, Vstrom, Intruder and current ride is a 03 Roadstar. I’d like a Roadglide someday and I’ll get it sometime in the next couple of years. My bike is my transportation 8-9 months of the year, ride to work, errand running, hiking trips and weekend fun with the wife 2up. Been riding since before I was married, stationed in Hawaii it was the perfect way to enjoy the islands. Before our daughter came along it was nothing to get on the bike and ride the island for a couple hours.

As someone who has just started out riding a motorcycle, I got a Honda Rebel 500...not because I couldn't have walked into the Harley dealer and bought one (I could have, my credit is good), but because I truely have no desire to own a Harley Davidson motorcycle. My dream bike isn't even a cruiser, once I'm comfortable riding and have started moving up to bigger bikes, I'm going to get a Hayabusa.

When I rode, I rode 10k miles a year from just going to work. My bike was a 97 vulcan classic, painted with line X, cause I loved that rough flat black, straight pipes. Miss it. Had so many bikes over the years. I got mistaken for a club member and 1% more then once, but I was all about being a lone. I loved cruising 70 mph, relaxing, backroads, knowing there was inches between me and the road. If you are someone watching this video and pondering the idea of riding, DO IT!!!!! between the ride and the people you meet, you will know nothing like it. its a love like no other.

I make 6 figures, trust and believe my credit is a rock; but I don’t like Harley, never have. Did it ever occur to you that not all bikers are HD fanboys?

I own my own business, so I spend most of my time in a work van. I ride whenever I can, whether it's a weekday or a weekend, rain, snow, or sun. I ride the bike as much as possible.

The bench rider…talks like he rides all the time, but it never leaves the garage. All polished up like it can be entered in a show.

I love my Harley. Started with a street glide and I saw a 2020 Patriot edition road glide. Test drove that and the rest is history. As long as there’s no ice and snow on the ground I’m on 2’s in Northern Colorado. I’ll ride down to about 25 degrees.

There’s a new breed coming through I feel. 80s/90s kids that grew up skating and in the alternative scene and now they ride. Maybe kinda like Dyna Bros 🤷🏻♂️
