Hey Everyone; thank you for watching this week's episode. We love chartering in the Virgin Islands. After the disappointment of the previous charter, the crew was in high spirits to have one of our favorite repeat families on board in such a fantastic location. This is part one of two for this charter, as there were so many great activities. Please drop us a comment if you have any questions about Loon or the crew. Please take it easy on all our Moustaches, as it was all for Movember, which is a fantastic cause.

It is SO important to support the education and training up of your people. Yes, it does mean you run the risk of someone moving on to greener pastures if there is no internal promotion open, but it ensures that your people are dynamic, quality minded and wanting to improve. It also ensures that if you do have an opening for a crew member, you are attracting the kind of people who appreciate that mindset.

I love seeing the excellent seamanship of Captain Paul and the crew going out to help- have seen that in a few videos. Love the commitment to safety for everyone on the water despite the focus of running a charter on a multimillion dollar yacht. As for risks of calling out bad behaviour like previous fella mentioned - having money is not an excuse for being an ass. Motor Yacht Loon seems to be busy enough without pandering to lack of class. I admire Captain Paul calling it and keeping it real. These people work very hard. Perhaps the bad behaviour people won’t be able to charter again due to this as I’m sure this world is a small one and word will travel. Other yachts given the choice between booking jerks and booking awesome people will know who to give time to. Also loved this video of the hiking in the rain !! The commitment !! Love the channel. Keep up the great work. 😊

Good day to you all. I live in Pennsylvania USA and have been following Loon for about two years and I have to say that it has been a most enjoyable trip so far. My reason for this comment is to say that my favorite member of the crew is head chef Nina! You need to feature her more often. As far as I am concerned she has the most personality, also I am partial to Redheads. My wife was a Strawberry Blond . Any way keep up the great work and stay safe. Smooth water and fair winds.

I feel this will never happen as it would create major problems with privacy. I feel the way they have been doing it so far recently has been good to let the world know how they are doing. You know the Guests themselves could come onto this page and say something if they wanted to.......... but doubt Loon (Company) will ever go down that track.

Isn't it nice to have guests who treat the crew as fellow human beings instead of simply as servants? Even in the videos the mood/state of mind of the crew is palpably different from what it was during the last charter; yes, it's that obvious. The best guests become like family, especially those who charter with some regularity and it enrichens their experience as well because the crew want to make sure (even more so than usual) that they (the guests) have the best experience possible because they care about them as people, not "just" as guests. Loon looks stunning at night from the air; the contrast between the cool colour temp of the underwater lights and the warm deck/salon lighting makes for an almost fairytale scene.

Love your videos, perfect and interesting content, maybe one day for me! Pet peeve I can’t withhold any longer, PLEASE CHEFS and others, STOP talking when standing over or near food, the amount of sputum and bacteria that sprays out of your mouth and off the tongue is enormous (you just can’t see it with the naked eye), regardless of your efforts to prevent it, you can’t (veteran pediatric nurse here, it’s the greatest way of spreading illness), that’s my two cents worth! The boat is gorgeous and the crew’s amazing, we’ve visited many of the gorgeous areas you’re chartering to, my all-time fav islands of all time are St Maartin (wanting to move there, we’ve visited many times) and St Barth. Hi guys, love your videos. Wishing I was younger to drive these kinds of beautiful boats! Quick two questions, if I may please. What is the tall white pole for up near the bow? It seems to be retractable with what looks like a white navigational light on top. Is that its only purpose - the navigational light? Also, do you have the ability to illuminate the bridge area with red lighting at night to preserve night vision, or only white?
@motoryachtloon
9 ай бұрын
Hi Matthew, Great questions. Correct, the telescopic pole in the front is called a Foremast, and it houses 2 lights. 1 all-round white light to show we're at anchor and one forward facing white light to show when we're underway. It is a requirement on vessels over 50m. Most yachts have telescopic poles to keep the lines clean, whereas most commercial ships have a permanent pole. Yes, the bridge also has red lights but we hardly use them. 🛥🥂

I follow your channel every week and often I wonder what it would be like to be crew or a guest on a super yacht like Loon as I could never afford to be a guest and I am far too old to be crew. The best I can manage is a cruise in the Caribbean on a large cruise ship (well I shouldn't complain). A few weeks ago I decided, on a whim, to escape the cold of the UK and I embarked on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. I think I kind of half hoped to catch sight of you if our paths crossed. Well, the Caribbean is a big place with a lot of islands so I wasn't expecting to. But astonishingly, by chance, we docked in Antigua and I went on a around Antigua catamaran trip. The Captain announced that we would be going into Falmouth Harbour and he pointed out all the super Yachts there. Then I realised Loon might be there, so I looked and filmed every ship I could see. At the time I did not know it was the charter boat show or where you were berthed until I got home and you posted your docking and show experiences.... then I realised I might have caught Loon on my camera. I checked my footage today and there you are ! I was just 10 metres from your bow, Loon is bigger than I thought !. The closest I will ever come to a super yacht like Loon but I have the memory and it features in my holiday video for family and friends as I am always telling them to watch your fun and informative channel. I can now say "Look, that's Loon and I am there !" Thanks for all the videos and adventures, the stuff dreams are made of.
