Is there anything you DONT know? I'm blown away! I've never used condensed milk except for occasionally in baking BUT we just stopped buying my husband's powdered or liquid creamer because of the poison they pass off for ingredients. 😅 He's going to be so happy that I found you! Oh and I've commented before but I need to say again... the seasonings and original recipes you make up, tell me that you 💯 % know what you're doing! There was a More Make a Mix cookbook as well. They have been my guide books for over 45 years. My Mom surprised me with a new version published in 2006 after seeing how worn the others were. These mixes streamline cooking & baking as well as help avoid all the additives in our food.

You can grind any grain and make hot cereal with it. Any rolled or flaked grain will work in food processor. For non-rolled grains use a coffeemill (blender MAY work, the VitaMix ones do for sure): Kasha (cracked toasted buckwheat) or rice, both for gluten-free (I love brown rice for cream of rice) Wheat for farina or cream of wheat - use bulgur wheat (it’s cracked wheat) Barley - use cracked barley if u can find it Instant grits can be made from grits (they’re cracked corn). We love the yellow stone milled grits. These might still need 5 min to cook. Corn is long cooking!

Sesame seeds are mandatory for my granola. I would use 1T for this recipe, I don’t count it twd the nuts & seeds. And shredded unsweetened coconut. I count the coconut as part of the nuts. To reduce cost u can use 1 1/2 cup rice krispies for 1 cup of the nuts so just 1 cup total nuts/seeds then Aldi’s brand is fine My kids eat rice krispies so the leftover isn’t wasted. Plus I make a double batch as 4c oats’ worth doesnt last here lol Granola should keep a month

I would add 2T rm temp butter once honey is also melted into water Fat helps slow down carb absorption 1T=3t FYI for future recipes You can bake it 300 for 15 minutes and turn and repeat that twice to not have your oven on as long Ur posted recipe says 2t salt instead of 1. Ur recipe is missing the 2 cups of nuts/seeds You can spread out the granola in a roasting pan and flip it after 15 minutes at 300°. Repeat twice. This will save a bit on oven time and give u more crispiness. The deep pan makes it’s easier too.

Instead of honey or maple syrup you can make a simple syrup (sugar syrup) as honey is pricey & syrup is phenomenally priced. Unless it’s rly raw, 100% unheated, you’re buying honey from ppl who feed their bees corn syrup. So it’s honey flavored corn syrup. Just use sugar. No health benefits at all in that fake honey. Simple syrup is 1 cup sugar in 1 cup water. (1:1 ratio) then simmer till sugar dissolved. Brown sugar works too. I would use brown sugar for granola. You still need the extra water for the pb to dissolve in too!

First time viewer because you popped up on my home feed. I’m curious, do you just put the sweetened condensed milk in your coffee like creamer? I don’t drink coffee but I’m still curious. Also, I’m not going to lie, I was shocked when you pulled out store bought shredded cheese! I only get block cheese and shred it myself, cheaper and healthier. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging, I was just surprised. Since I am all about making everything I can from scratch for savings and health reasons, I’m going to check out a few of your videos.

Here is my no-fail recipe for sweetened condensed milk. Hope someone finds it helpful: Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 cup instant nonfat dry milk powder 2/3 cup granulated sugar 1/3 to 1/2 cup boiling water 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend on medium speed until completely mixed. Scrape down the sides of the blender and blend again. Put the finished milk into a container that has an airtight lid and store in the refrigerator until use. This makes the equivalent of one small can of sweetened condensed milk. It thickens after it is refrigerated.
