Do you have any advice on staying relaxed in regards to right and left hand? My left hand loves light strings and I can generally find my light touch but my right hand hates trying to pick fast on light strings. Is it just a matter of having enough muscle memory and control that right hand relaxation becomes easier at faster tempos?

Three words (techniques?): voice embellishments, to small motif; to finish with smooth deceptive cadence. Is that what you mean? A complimentary ending to a beginning voice. Loved this video BTW. Always something insightful to pick up from your articulation!

Hey Rotem! You are doing really great lessons. I have learned a lot from these and highly appreciate that. What's holding me back most? I think when improvising I am not really good in always knowing where I am in the chord progression and finding the proper tones to line out the chords in an interesting way. Taht occurs even when I know the chord progression all by heart when playing accompaniement. So I am always thinking about methodical approach to get a better wiring between the chord grip that I would use in the heat of the action and the lines I would play in a soloing situation. That's for me for sure more difficult when chords fly by fast in the heat of the action. I hope this makes sense to you. I would love if you could pick up this idea and spend a few words on this. I hope and believe this would also be interesting for others. Thanks anyway for sharing your knowledge and advice with us !!!

My pinky finger. To elaborate a bit: My flailing pinky finger. If it is agreed that coordination between the fretting and picking hand is the key to efficient picking and speed, I think I need to keep all of my fingers close to the strings for this to work. The problem is my 1st three fingers stay close to the strings, but my pinky finger always goes far away from the fretboard no matter how hard I tried to keep it close. This throws off the coordination and rhythm between the picking and fretting hand. I’ve tried finger strengthening exercises. I have a Grip Master finger exerciser and I squeeze a ball. I start the exercises slow and watch. I concentrate like Houdini. Nothing has worked. I believe I could pick much smoother and faster if I could solve this problem. Over…..

Common chord embellishments (I don't know what the technical term is for this.. To explain, I mean when one holds a chord then adds/subtracts a finger's fretting to bring more character to the sound/voicing.) Love your work!

@@jixs4v This is part of it, an example would be with barre chords where you strum a Gm7 and then hammer on to a G7 while the strum is ringing out. I would like to know more examples of these.

Something I'd like to point out is the right hand position, it's not complitely parallel to the strings, it's slightly slanted, I think trying to keep it parallel was one of the mistakes I made.. I hope I can get back to play guitar soon.

Question the chromatic scale, is this a part of the major scale I always though that the chromatic scale was one note to the next octave. gong from A to A, Im not sure :(
@PopeLOLEK
2 жыл бұрын
The chromatic scale is simply going up or down in semitones (half steps). For example: C, C#, D, D#, E, etc. or going down C, B, Bb, A, Ab, G, etc. I hope that clarifies what it is!
