I have a stupid-large collection of copying pencils and pencil leads. I'm not a toxicologist, but I am a physician and can assure you that unless you are sniffing the shavings or licking the tip (like they used to), you are fine. The transdermal/percutaneous absorption is very small. You wouldn't want to be stabbed by one, though - that requires surgical removal! Just don't try to reenact any movie scenes.

Thanks for sharing some of your lovely old pencils. I adore pencils, both traditional, mechanical, and clutch varieties, also fountain and dip pens. I love to sketch in the Mountains here in Ireland. The mindfulness element is awesome!

I just got 8 of the Eberhard Faber Noblot 705 ink pencils for free and can barely find any information on them. Are they worth using? Anything special about them? They’re super expensive on eBay.

Mongol 482 #3s are my ABSOLUTE holy-grail pencil. I have about 30 and I may not be able to bring myself to sharpen any more of them. I've been branching out into Asian pencils because I need a dark lead to be happy.

Nice video! I usually use my Blackwing 602s or my Ticonderoga's! Their great! I recently bought a clutch pencil. It's awesome, but the lead is very light. What kind of lead should I get? It's 2mm, I'm new to pencils.

There was a time in the U.S. when the Dixon Ticonderoga pencil (the yellow ones ranging from H to S) were good writing pencils. They all wrote very smooth. That was about 20 years ago. Draftsmen and engineers usually used Venus or Koh-A-Noor pencils pencils for some reason.

I have a new Blackwing 602. It was pricey for a pencil (About $1.95 US, I think.), but not terribly expensive. It has a black eraser and says"Half the pressure, twice the speed" on the back. How does this differ from yours?

+Al Mollitor I haven't yet, that's a heck of a video! The difference is about 47 years and $58 dollars (: Try reading the 'Blackwing pages' website, a goldmine of information on the BW
