Another good thing about wearing your backpack on the front is it keeps people from groping you on a crowded subway. I always just wear a simple steel band when I travel, unless I'm just visiting family. That way I don't have to worry about my rings getting stolen or misplaced. I take them off when I put on lotion or in the shower.

I've been traveling solo almost six time and I don't care if someone complain to me like "are you rich? Why expensive flight?" I want to get to my destination without changing planes. That downloading map and listening a guide plus looking alike you know where to go, it's REALLY good tip! ^^ Only thing I don't understand also why people are waving their phones so openly or taking pictures by phone alot. My tip is to wear wristwatch, so I don't need to pick my phone every time I want to check the time. And my trips might be really boring but no late nights outside.

These are really good "common sense" tips, sometimes common sense isn't so common x'D so it's really good to see stuff laid out simply here. We used to wear our bookbags like this when we were in elementary school. We did it because it was heavy and would weigh us down while we walk or bounce to much when we run. So we would wear it to the front and it made it easy. It became was a fad lol for some time lol

I also volunteered with refugees in Athens! Such a wonderful (yet heartbreaking) experience. Which shelter did you work with? Totally feel you about the walk to the metro at night. I learned that the hard way. And keeping a hand on your bags and in front is such a must, especially in Monastiraki.

Well the taxi at the airport in Thailand (Bangkok) are generally speaking quite safe. (The taxi the hotel going to send to you are most often the same ones.) But okay, If that make toy feel safe so fine by me. Just learn to look at the person who collecting you and judge if that person have som "medication" in his body to be able to drive long hours.) My taxi-tip in Bangkok. Just pick the oldest driver of them all. (Almost always cheapest and safest in the traffic and the ones who are 100 % honest/trustworthy)

How do people backpack with two bags? Seems so uncomfortable to have that much on you at all times. I only take a 40L backpack and have a small backpack empty in there so whenever I can store my backpack somewhere I can grab the small bag and put some of the things I need in it for my trip that day. I've traveled with a 60L before and it was absolutely terrible to carry so much.

The tip about not getting drunk is so me lmao. I would never get drunk on a foreign place, at least not one that I don't know like the back of my hand. I hate that we -women- have to be so careful and it's actually not our fault that men take advantadge of us but yeah we have to be, sadly, very careful. I have walked endless times to my home drunk and alone and it's ok, cause I know the place and it's a small town (even tho something could actually happen i know but the chances are lower). I have also wandered alone in the centre of Madrid at 4am. I know i know reckless af but I had to go alone so lmao, it was the day of the pride parade and I was the only one of my friends who didn't drink bc reasons hahaha. Ugh I wish we could just do us.
