We're suckers for Hereditary 2: European Vacation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

thanks for these reviews. I am a lot older than the gentleman above, but I was fortunate to see both films in the theater. I remember the ending sequence of French Connection 2 was heart pounding. I had seen both French Connection and Chinatown in the theater when they came out. TWO JAKES for me suffered somewhat from the 1974 to 1990 16 yrs difference. I did not get all what was implied, until I saw both on DVD many years later, and after seeing both Chinatown and the Two Jakes in the same day. One problem I thought with the TWO JAKES, while reallly a good film, is that it is to CHINATOWN, what 2010 is to 2001. Space Oddesy. Also back in 75 or 74, I had heard that Dustin Hoffman was thought to be in the sequel, so a sequel even bakc tehn was thought of becuase of Robert Towne. Also I had heard that a 3rd Jake movie was supposed to happen, in the 1960's, regarding more freeways, the first water, the second oil, but because of the failure of TWO JAKES, never happened. But who knows, with AI, maybe such a film like that can be done. Also find it quite funny, but in FRENCH CONNECTION 2, Gene Hackman basically gives the same performance that he did it FRENCH CONNECTION, but no academy award nomination. And he is really good in the second film.

Appreciate the support! Agreed with 2001/2010 comparison. Gittes vs. Gittes, the 3rd entry in the Chinatown universe almost happened. I believe had the sequel been greenlit in the 1980s and a success we would have seen it. French Connection II is truly underrated
