There's some Super Bowl stuff coming up. My Uncle tended to skip the commercials on a few of those, so some are better represented than others. I'm not posting anything after '96. Modern day commercials are awful.

Agreed; the 2nd half of the 90's is when commercials started to go downhill.

"I'm really glad all of my family photos are tucked away in photo albums that can't simply be erased with a hard drive crash." I am totally with you on that! I miss film so dearly and I'm really grateful for all those photos I have...The death of the Polaroid is a tragic one.

I'm just posting what I have, dude. A lot of the commercials I'll be posting in the next few months are from football games. There aren't exactly a whole lot of those played during the summer so...

To me there's something unsettling about digital photography being used as an archive medium for so many people. Digital photography might be cheaper and more convenient but I'm really glad all of my family photos are tucked away in photo albums that can't simply be erased with a hard drive crash.

That ad for the generator is wild. It seems like Christmastime is when all the gadget-type ads proliferate, probably because people stumped for gifts might see 'em and go "Aha!" I've never seen ads for Black & Decker products outside the holiday season, for example.

OH, that Lutece ad is too much! The way she fondles the chess piece...dayum! And at the end he's like, "oh yeah, it's on!" Then the announcer saying "Letoos!" LOL.

All these commercials for cameras and camera related services are hilarious in hindsight. Who could have predicted the digital age?

***** Film is what the world used for over 100 years and people shot and continue to shoot great stuff on it. And probably most/all of the camera lenses in the Minolta ad are still usable on newer digital cameras.

Between Police Academy and Back to the Future, I was always wary of Fotomat-type places. Of course, by the time I got a camera and started taking pictures, they had all pretty much disappeared, at least from North Texas. I'm fairly certain I'd turn down credit for someone who came in dressed as a clown as well. I never quite got the point of catalog stores. If I'm going to have to order from a catalog, I might as well save the trip out and just have them send it directly to my house.
