Great video but game 3 you said that white's opening move b3 is "inferior". This is not 100% true. It has been played at top level chess for many years. It's called Nimzo-Larsen attack: for those who want to learn about it. GM Ben Finegold has a video that goes into detail about this opening.

Dude, you have a lot of good tips. I know it before watching the whole video. I only have some tips on winning that works. I know your tips are gonna help me out on escaping 1200-1300 loop. I hope the tips I used is not already known by you but here they are in case they helped you. Tip 1 : Always look for checks, even if it seem like just blundering. Tip 2 : Every forward move your opponent make is weakening of something that was solid. Tip 3 : If you have an idea, look for a better one. By the way, new subscriber.

I recently reached 1200 and I got there literally just from playing solid chess. I never really have a huge plan in mind, I just make sure that my position is never losing. I never hang pieces, I don't allow some dumb forks or anything and even if I'm not pushing hugely for a win people 1000 or lower will make some kind of blinded that you can capitalise on and immediately use it to win a game. I'd say about half of my games I've won a minor piece but move 15 just because I'm playing super solid and the opponent is playing aggressive trying to win. They also usually have no clue about opening prep. I literally only know the queen's gambit and the dragon Sicilian and opponents very often make at least one inaccurate move in the first 5 moves of the game. It might not be a flashy way to play but I've had a consistent climb at around 60% win rate, though I'll definitely have to change it up soon as people get better at openings and make less mistakes I'll have to work on pushing my calculation skills and opening knowledge, but first I'm taking a look at puzzles to learn some tactics because right now I think they're my weakest area of chess along with my midgame. I usually have over 80 accuracy in the opening and the endgame but can go as low as 50-60 in the midgame so that's where I need to improve most.

Play the Sicilian if it matches your style and you like sharp / tactical positions. If studying the Sicilian from White, I would suggest to memorize one particular line and start there (for example I play the Yugoslav attack, but there are countless attacks to pick from). If you are studying from black, try to study one line very very well as well and understand black's common sacrifices and plans.

@crabdabgonorway1866
Жыл бұрын
Watched this video and took multiple notes on key points, and first started using this tips slow in long games, so it became a part of my muscle memory. Then it became a lot easier Finding the right moves, I have of course also done the same with multiple other videos with tips for endgames, openings, midgames, etc. And probably have over 300 key points from different chess videos written down that I try to concentrate on using right, sometimes I get 90%+ many games in a row now, which I rarely got at all before. It all comes down to how you use the information you gain, using it right can make the game easier to understand, and therefore easier to win. This is one of the videos with the best tips I have used, and watching the entire video and take notes is something I recommend for your learning and growth if you want to not be stuck on 1400, but sometimes even with a lot more knowledge it Might still go slow growing, which is very normal for any player.

Great video! If I could offer one piece of constructive criticism: the parts where you switch from your twitch stream to your tips where it's you in your room full screen - the difference in volume is huge and very distracting. I have to pause, turn you down, start, then when you switch back to twitch game I have to turn you back up. Don't know if you'd be willing to reupload with this fixed but at the very least just a suggestion for future videos :). Really looking forward to seeing more of your content!
