Bird was quick. Quick feet, quick hands, deceptive moves, and a killer step back. He also had a quick mind. He was 2-3 steps ahead of what everybody else was thinking. No holes in his game, Bird even made All-Defensive teams. His skill set was unique. Perhaps you can react to Game 6 of the 1986 finals. The game Bird called the greatest of his career. He physically and psychologically destroyed the entire House Rockets team. Great reaction as always bro.

I appreciate that, from looking at footage,i can see that he was quick just not as quick and fast as a michael jordan when he first came in the league in my opinion, but his decision making and movement pattern was quick because as you said he was 2-3 steps ahead of the opponents in the game,we can most definitely look at that game as well for sure

@itzkhiiii , you're right, not fast like Michael. He's outstanding in his own right. But compared to 95 percent of the players on the court, he was! The Bird is the word video has a whole lot of his early years. And he's running circles around folks. Besides the hustle, heart, and pure fun of watching him. I think it's nostalgic for those of us who were watching him in 78/79 when he and Magic got started. It was mostly watching college games back then, until those two got everyone's attention. There's a documentary that takes you back to the beginning when they played with each other before NBA. Tells about their upbringings to the ends of their careers. It's called A courtship of rivals. And, a Bird or a Magic fan can't pass by it without watching it again. It's outstanding.

RIP Bill Walton unbelievable player and story teller and don’t forget forever a “Deadhead”. When the NBA was failing with no viewers Magic and Bird saved the league. Bird is a top 5 player the NBA will ever see no matter what time in History. Played as hard as he could every night destroyed his body shortened his career. Like Jordan said “consequently, Larry Bird has no weaknesses”. Let’s end any debate right there.

Thanks for these Bird videos! But Larry was quick. Quick first step, quick hands, and when he was healthy, he had that 3rd gear where he could outrun anyone. And his hustle was unmatched. Have you watched Bird is the word, 15 minutes of Larry Legend? Ill have to check. Its his best video as far as I'm concerned.

No i have not but we can react the that video for sure,I feel like he was quick as far as his decision making and movement pattern, but i don’t think for athletic ability he was as quick as a young michael jordan but he had the speed and he had the hustle

To put into perspective about why Boston fans were so pissed at Ralph Sampson for punching Jerry Sichting (and why the little old lady was taunting Sampson ) Ralph Sampson - 7’4” , 228 lbs. , wingspan 7’6” Jerry Sichting - 6’1” , 168 lbs. , wingspan 6’4” So Sampson was 15 inches taller, 60 lbs heavier, and his wingspan was 14” greater. That’s the physical equivalent of my 5’5” self beating up on a 4’0” tall person.

Please keep doing reactions to prime Larry Bird channel. There is also a video by Thinking basketball channel on KZitem about Larry Bird. I think this channel breaks down 12 players and since you like watching things about Larry that's a very good one I suggest because he critiques Larry's game.
