Love hearing you two chat!! Makes me miss my sister and the rest of my fam (military life) Feeling inspired to start my blog. I have a Vlog but it’s slow going. I reckon the blog is the way to go? And wow!! We hunt elk! And I raced motocross- tad different than a drag strip, motor sports. My sisters name is Laura. I killed an elk my very first hunt 4 hours in. Beginners luck. Why do we forget prenatals postpartum🤪? Miscarriage is hard but I feel like they got me to where I am snuggling my 5th. I was pregnant 3x last year- first time miscarrying and I had two back to back. 😓

She posted about it on Instagram YEARS ago, but you have to scroll back forever to find the post... I was recently wondering again what it was, but my page suddenly auto-refreshed when I was halfway done scrolling and I got discouraged and decided to try again later. (And haven't yet!) So this is only going off of memory, but I THINK Lisa was saying she is an ENFJ. During this video, I was trying to guess her sister's type, and my current top contender for Laura is ENTJ. Definitely both J-types, with all their goal focus and motivation!! Such a powerful duo! And both so wholesome, too!

So I have a question 🙋🏻♀️ in my culture the mindset is very much the husband is the bread winner and the wife is the homemaker. Was that a struggle for your husbands to feel like less then a man for staying home and being a ‘helpmeet ‘? Even if that was NOT the case , just the image? Maybe too personal a question so however you choose to address or not at all . I really love your values and channel. God bless !
@Simplefarmhouselife

In our culture we tie leadership and "head of the home" almost entirely and strictly to money, when it is in reality way more than that. I have seen very lazy husbands, especially in the Christian church, who see this as their only contribution to the family. Our husbands are both very much the heads of the home and the leaders of the family. We see our businesses as family businesses that we can work together on. Our husbands are in no way the "helpmeet", quite the opposite. I think it's helpful to look back through history and try to see the ways in which we view headship today that are strictly cultural, but not actually based in any biblical truth. Ie It's not all about the money. I (and Laura) are very much, and primarily, homemakers.
@ozarkview928

@@Simplefarmhouselife I agree! Sadly the culture I grew up with but am more removed from now , the husbands often did earn the money then put there big feet up and hid behind the newspaper while there wife , cooked and cleared supper , rid up the house and put the children to bed by herself and gave herself for her husband before finally falling asleep and nursing the baby a few times a night ! We really didn’t know better and we all knew our place 🥴 I admire your way ! But I see it would take a real working together! Actually it looks harder to me then how I was raised but think yours is a lot healthier IF you work together like you and your husband 🥰

I grew up on a horse farm, my mom bred, trained and showed horses. My dad had muffler shops and a midget car race team. Definitely a unique childhood. My husband's mom was a nun, left the convent and married a Pakistani immigrant guy, who was a Muslim. My husband's childhood was also unusual. And now...our kids have a lot of unique elements to their lives. It is a norm for us, ironically.

Could you ladies do a video on what you need and love to have with a new baby as a minimalist? Starting over after 9 year gap in kids and I’m overwhelmed with what to buy. We have started decluttering a couple years ago but I haven’t got to full minimalist yet that we want to be. In order to make room for baby we’re going to have to get rid of a lot more and clean out our garage and close it in. Anyway looking at baby gear it’s all changes since my last and all the nursing supplies etc it’s overwhelming. I don’t want to work hard to clear all the space and then just fill it up but I definitely want to have everything I need or that makes life a lot smoother with baby. I keep putting off my registry because it’s hard to know what to put on it.
