I started my tretinoin journey on July 2023. One day, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw saggy skin - early signs of jowling, downturn mouth and disappearing double eye lid corners. I have not taken care of myself and had enjoyed years of not putting on sunscreen. Sun is the number 1 reason for accelerated aging.
Starting tretinoin is not just a simple process of putting on retinoic cream on my face, but a whole complex system of caring and protecting the skin. Wearing SPF if one thing, but ensuring your home is optimized to keep you from getting too much sun is another thing. Unfortunately, I live in a home with many, and I mean many windows. Sometimes it feels like there is no where to hide. I don't have curtains or blinds everywhere, only at certain windows where the sun shines in strongly.
I spend most of my waking hours in my study. This is where I do all my work. Naturally, I would do my best to ensure I am reducing my exposure to light in this room. So, once I stated tretinoin, I looked at ways how I can rearrange my study to my purpose. One would say, oh just wear SPF and it's ok but SPF can only work that much. We have to reapply every 2 hours and that itself is an experience worth a separate vlog on its own. In this video, I will share the reasons why I moved my desk to where it is now.
The tips here are good for not only tretinoin users but anyone in general. Protect your skin, stay youthful longer.
