Homemade Home Congratulations Yesterday we discovered his channel and spent the afternoon watching some videos; My husband was surprised by all the work he does and how professional he is. I'm sorry if my English is very bad. I have a doubt because in their EU country they carry out this type of construction, all in wood, in Mexico the construction is block and brick, the wood I think is only used as support material or guide for the walls or for the ceiling. Success in the channels, greetings from the city of Puebla in Mexico 🙏

Listen man, I know in the last video you said you’re not sure how this inspires people because you show how it’s not easy work, and it’s not glamorous. I just want you to know that it’s not just the work, or the money. It’s your personality. You present yourself well, and from what we can see, you seem like a real, quality guy. You’re a real man, and I don’t just aspire to do houseflips like you, but be as self disciplined, respectful and mature as you.

You can't cover up a window, but he could take it out and close up the hole properly. The most annoying part would be having to fix the siding, but maybe he's going to replace that anyway. In that case it would be the best option to just remove the window. Trapping a window in e.g. drywall will create problems because of condensation.

If you have been doing this long enough, its not a concern. A cursory glance at building materials and methods will identify 99% of asbestos containing materials. Contrary to popular belief, asbestos wasn't commonly used in most residential homes except in acoustical ceiling treatments in the 60's and early 70's. Some older homes have it in heat ducts and pipe insulation for boiler systems, but those are probably not prevalent in rural AL.

The one thing i wanted to point out is the mold/fungus. While treating it with bleach will kill it and keep it from spreading, the remnants of the fungus are still an allergy hazard, especially if there will be children living in the house. Children’s respiratory system is pretty sensitive and being exposed to mold/fungus can lead to the development of asthma. That being said, loving the process so far. Architecturally, this is probably my favourite one of your houses yet. Keep up the great work!

I like to fix what is there and move on. A lot of times you get diminishing returns for big stuff. My take on it is make it clean and functional. Meaning, that I'd rather get two houses done that rent for $700 than do a lot more work to end up with only one house that rents for $850. Basically, what you want and what you should do are two different things. If it were my personal residence, I may do something different.

@@asusreviewsasbestos removal : It IS legal for the property owner to do it themselves, if the house has less than 4 living units. Since this is a single-family unit, he CAN do it himself. lead paint removal : EPA rules do not apply to property owners.

@@annt.slavetofreya.4370 Absolutely not legal. Especially disposing of the asbestos and lead paint. It has to be done in an EPA approved way by an EPA approved contractor. It's rolled up in plastic and taped securely.

@@asusreviews I don't know where you live, but in Indiana and Kentucky, the property owner absolutely CAN do his own asbestos removal, as long as the building has no more than 4 units. All you have to do is google asbestos abatement laws in your state to find out what the law is. As for disposal, all we had to do was roll it in plastic, put it in hazmat bags, and take it to the dump. It costs more to take hazmat bags, but, we saved the $10,000 that the abatement company wanted to charge us!

"Everything was done right but..." You should take out a huge homeowners insurance policy. Electrical wiring is either done right or it is not.

It wasn't connected to power, no different than balling up wires and stuffing them in the wall. The wiring that was live, was done correctly.

@Lakario, no doubt that he works hard, and he doesn't give up, but you are seeing him drop allot of vids at once. The brick one he did last year. Did you see him drop that big huge tree by himself? Then he loaded it up by himself and carried it off. That was impressive, because it took allot of smarts too. We need more Americans like "Homey Hero".
