So you’re full Venezuelan? Always thought just your dad was from Venezuela. Imagine if things were safer in Caracas and the other parts of the country, you could’ve done a tour with your dad. That would’ve made for a great series.

The maduros (plantains) I love them with a hot fry bake (Trini) and butter with a pinch of salt to add that sweet and savory taste 🤤. Simple but so good. And I learned about Picanha from my Brazilian neighbor. It's a nice cut of beef that Americans really don't care for or know about.

He’s correct with rolling the r. The r in bara should be rolled, that’s the way it’s pronounced from India. Indo-Trinis lost that pronunciation of the rolled r sound while living in an English speaking country.

I love it when you bring up new foods I haven't heard of. It makes me want to know what the ingredients are right away. Your swooning over the guasacaca made me pause the video and find a recipe for that. Other than the ingredients you find in guacamole (avocados, garlic, onions. cilantro-sometimes and lemon or lime and hot peppers and oil), guasacaca has those ingredients minus the citrus with vinegar instead but it also has fresh green bell pepper and parsley which I can imagine would really change the flavor. This video is one of your best. The discussion of and comparisons to foods from other countries was great. Your guest knows a tremendous amount about the food and obviously has had experience eating different cuisines. That combined with your vast experience eating food all over the world - especially Indian - makes this a really interesting video.
