Nicely done. Much of this, I would consider advanced technique. I think the importance of determining , then locking, exposure is critical with these camera moves. Great clip.

I shot a few videos before the 4th of July (my channel is all about fireworks) and tried to integrate B-roll into the video. I struggled with the technical aspects - ie - how long should it take to pan from the leading edge to the trailing edge of the subject (happened to be a fireworks stash) as well as how much video to shoot. Once I started editing, I realized I needed probably 30 percent more than I shot, so I had to reuse and modify the jump cuts. This will likely be my go to reference the next time I make that type of video. Great Video!

I'll play devil's advocate and say if a client paid you do work, don't shoot hand held. Shoot the best quality work you can with your budget. Just because you can shoot hand held doesn't necessarily mean you should. I've seen too many ruined shots in my line up because someone thought they were better than a monopod, tripod, gimbal, fly cam, etc.

5:37 it's not one fluid motion when you're tilting up on the second pass, but not tilting up on the approach pass. Why not tilt up on the approach pass, then finish the tilt up on the second shot?

Jeven, more videos like this for sure. I personally think that for most novice vloggers, how to construct B-Roll is always a challenge. What I found most useful is how you "labeled" each type of b roll setup. Its much easier to go out and be able to say to yourself, right, I'd like my video to have a scene that has a "close-up", and/or a "dirty frame", or "rack focus" etc. I find the "labels" help to remind yourself when your'e out shooting, how you want a scene to look. Very useful video!

Good tips! I do like b-roll stuff. It can make a video a ton more interesting visually. I'd mention that the 60FPS sliding shot also allows you to move faster when you're shooting it. Gotta kinda work out in your head how fast you should move knowing that you're going to slow 60FPS down to 50% or even a bit slower. It's a great technique, tho.
