Lorena Vargas, Physical Therapist, explains the "typical" motor development of the 9-month-old baby. At 9 months, the baby is able to roll from their back to their side to push up and sit up. They have good balance in sitting which allow them to play a long period of time in this position. The baby starts transitioning from sitting to four points and to crawl. Also, they can start pulling to stand. When they are standing and want to pick something from the floor, they can easily lose their balance and fall on their bottom.
