I would really like to find movies I like to watch. I find "entertainment" on the box or movies silly and boring. Everyone talks about watching movies, I can't get into them. Am I abnormal or are they? I can't get myself to watch acting unless there is an amazing storyline worth watching.

For me, the strangest thing about being an INFJ is having constant contradictions in my head. I feel like there are two different people in there, each with strong cases for this and that. I don't feel like I have a split personality or anything, rather it's just this feeling of being very torn all the time. Like, I love making connections with people, but I'm not interested in talking to my neighbors. And I feel very free-spirited, yet I really care about structure and order. I can like and dislike someone at the same time! It's madness.

Yes I really don’t fucking care about your problems I just want to nudge you in the right direction I have enough problems myself, doesn’t mean I don’t care though. For example If I have an interest in you then I will spend time studying you and thinking about you wether we have ever even talked or not it’s just how I pass time or cure boredom. Fantasizing or thinking about people is what makes me feel good. Its like I comfort myself with the idea that people have problems too and it’s not just me. I imagine scenarios in my head to see how a friendship would turn out. And I only engage in relationships if I like the feeling I get around someone like if I feel like I don’t know what the hell I would say around you then I will just avoid you but if you are a person that gets bored easily I will talk to you because I know that after a few sentences you are satisfied and you will go to to someone else and leave me alone. Sorry I’m blabbing I’ll stop now.

Sheesh I feel attacked, especially because of the part about fantasizing about people. When I’m interested in someone I build them up in my imagination. Of course I understand a lot of what I make up in my head will just be possibilities and things I assume from little clues, but it doesn’t stop me from getting disappointed when the real person isn’t the saint I’ve created in my mind.

We completely have the ability to come off as a total extrovert while truly being an introvert. It's how we learned to function in the world and if you're empath, the combination of extroverted empath is irresistible which lead people to "feed" on you, especially narcissistic people looking for their own fuel. I have the unfortunate/fortunate traits of being infj empath. Have to disappear on my own for 48-72 hours a time, even camping alone in a mountain trail to escape human energy I've absorbed and let it dissipate.

I learned from psych2go that not only am I the strongest type of Empath, but a Sigma Empath. Plus, a HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) w a Strong personality. And I've realized, from the kind of very abusive life I've lived in for 46yrs, w almost no explanatory info on me & not having met Any1 remotely like me, that I have A LOT of INFJ qualities. Just a few things differ w me, some that have changed w time. One big thing is, that if I'm w dysfunctional ppl, or situations that it hurts to be around, I absolutely cannot deal w being around that. Especially my toxic family gatherings, 4 example. I'm out of there. I've only gone to see my Gpa, who's now on the precipice of death, which I am as well. Which are due to 2 different reasons & long explanations.

Yes the emotionless expression is really accurate I found that it works the most in every day life. If someone looks at you they could assume so many things. Maybe that your bored, depressed, tired, don’t wanna talk, cool person dgaf mentality, and that is what I want to come across as maybe so people don’t talk to me I don’t really know exactly why I do it but I found that when I see someone with this expression it makes me most intrigued so I wear it on my face. Also because I don’t like people to see my reactions so I just keep a straight face.

Ok got me but fellow INFJs don't forget there's a spectrum to these. We fall into these but to varying degrees. Im an INFJ and these are true. 1) I already know what I want at the restaurant, for we always fo to Apple Bees and my mom works there so I know whats all on the menu and she tells me if her days were crowded or slow so I know whats up. 2) I always zone out no matter where I am too, I zone out in school, while eating, talking, and even when I'm playing video games with my friends. 3) I am extremely private and like nobody knows that except for my closest friend, am also really secretive about my personal life at times so I may lie about that stuff only to get out of the situation. 4) Ehh, I don't exactly fantasize romantic relationships, I just like having great friends and I tend to easily let go of people that things didn't go as how I had hopes because their not nice and just toxic. Theres always those people that seem so nice and caring but once you get to know them they're really toxic. 5) I do hold back on what I want to say and mostly its emotion stuff for me and I just don't say it because my dad always makes fun of me. 6) Yes, I feel like I need to know the good in everybody, even though that sometimes doesn't work out and they're just mean to me I still believe they have a good side, everybody has a good side and for some its hard for them to show it but they still have it in them! But then theres the good people that have their bad side, it's realky easy to tell the differences but in the end all have good and bad sides but thats ok, we are still us aren't we? 7) I can hide my nervousness with an entirely different emotion. It's weird but yes I can do that, I usually hide it with happiness or excitement depending on the situation. 8) I haven't quite figured myself out even if I think I have, its hard to tell but all I know is that I'm me and thats all that matters and no matter what happens! (Also, sorry if I'm over looking things but you only put 8 things because you skipped 7, again really sorry if I'm being annoying in anyway)

I don't know if this applies to others infjs, but I can feel when someone is hurting or too excited for something, I mean even if that person is not in the same room or the same country (It can be someone I admire and don't know too) so when I'm having a hard time and I don't know why and then disappears, later on I found out one of these persons were having it, not me. Soo, I think, I think that's the reason why we sometimes cannot know what's going on with us, we don't know if it's us or someone else.

I often could not understand ‘why’ I was experiencing/feeling a certain emotion, because we can experience emotions of others. For example, I'm a talented artist but I'm so afraid to fail which causes me to procrastinate; sometimes I come up with amazing ideas but never share them or maybe I do but nobody understands, etc. I really hate myself because of how much I've wasted, like this comment

I’m almost 60, and only found out yesterday, that I’m an INFJ. Ahh.. these are normal on the surface habits we exhibit. There are below the surface behavior that go unaware. We are obsessive. Once an idea pops in our head, we will entertain ourselves in an all out fashion leaving no details behind. And once we execute, there's no holding back. It's full throttle all the way or nothing. We also demand the best and will search the ends of the earth for the prize or create one or own. We can't settle for mediocracy and perfection is overrated. We constantly improve our very own masterpieces. And one last bit of unusual character, we are always thinking ten years ahead. "I will need it later" is our motto. I have bike tools, but don't have a bike. But hey, if later you need your bottom bracket replaced or your headset upgraded, I got the tools, baby

There are a lot of youtube video's around about INFJ's but none are so close to my personality as this one i must say! Spot on except for not talking about myself. The reason which is given for this is the reason for me to do talk about myself. To give people as much information as possible so they might gonna understand me at the end though most of the time people start to believe me less an less and even mistrust me, because they really don't understand me at all anymore. To see the reactions here of other INFJ's is so releaving, because the alienated feeling i get from my surroundings makes me feel truly alone on this earth. Glad to see there are more like me somewhere out there.

I sometimes seem to have "talk to me because I will listen" on my forehead. It happens all over my neighborhood. The shops, the op shops, in elevators. I tend to read people very closely and biuld up a sort of dossier on them. Then I review each layer and draw conclusions about them and make decisions about how far to take the relationship if at all. Im happy to say "Im a private person so just a friendly nod will do" . I really do like being alone. I might seem like Im staring out the window but all the real action is going on in my head. I get stuff done there first and then follow through. So after double checking when this video was posted (for the purposes of social awareness...), I want to relate something I do frequently that ties in with #1. I expect there are INFJs who would relate. When it comes to shopping, I like to: 1) shop online or make purchasing decisions in person after perusing the online listings from the stores I purchase from, wherever possible 2) memorize or make a record of info about items I might like to purchase another time while in a store I like that doesn't have an online catalogue for referencing 3) looking at as many store options as possible, often including local stores, stores offering used items (where appropriate), and stores that ship items, when online shopping 4) analyzing store options generally for analytical criteria like whether they offer free shipping options, and what shipping time frame is like, as well as making note of intuitive impressions including ethical considerations and an assessment of the quality of the products and trustworthiness of the company 5) narrowing the search as best as I can using filters and sorting, then looking at *every* remaining possibility (from every store that made it past initial scrutiny...) 6) comparing a very large quantity of options saved to wishlists, carts, new internet tabs, or digital documents 7) creating tables to amalgamate options not readily dismissed and perform assessments based on desired criteria 8) developing mathematical ranking systems to help analyze the options objectively 9) including a metric for how I "feel" about the item and incorportating it into the algorithm as an additional consideration 10) talking through feelings about product options with others if the choice is difficult to narrow down - while ultimately using their answers to gauge my own emotional responses and strive to understand my own feelings about several good options in a more poignant way 11) feeling satisfied that, while I likely spent disproportionately long researching purchasing options, I can be content with my choice on the basis of having thoroughly analyzed the situation Shout out to my INFP husband who finds my process maddening... He appreciates the results, not the process!
