Happy Birthday, Hatsumi sensei! Thank you for everything! My life would be unrecognizable to me now if it weren't for all that you've given. 🙏

Bujinkan... people ask me whats being teached from 2012 and so on, i say: Timing , control and precision. That is the connection with the void. It can only be found In a real situation. No crowds , just plain survival. Its all about when you do what seems to be "supernatural" to save your life, just to check on the camera to see you just moved 15 cm to the left avoiding getting stabbed, or even shot. You might feel its lucky, or whatever. There is nothing spiritual being teached by real BJK practicioners. Its some sort of metaphysical approach on situations of life or death. So , i still believe if you dont harden your body and sharpen your mind, one cannot be a warrior... some will just role play, find it amusing and fun. Its all part of the BJKn... honestly i feel that the ego is killing the true budo spirit in this group. There's all the big masters and bla bla. I started in 2006. Trained in other styles , but its inevitable. Your Taihenjutsu and taijutsu will always be with you... even if you change to other style.

If you hesitate , you die. Better not to react at all. Its fine to freeze, its also a defense mechanism. Sometimes, even if you train for years, your mind and body will freeze you, because there could be no openings at all. That acceptance of the inevitable death around the corner... that is Bushido. When you know, you know its time to do something. You dont think. If you think you die. But in combat sports (which is a very nice thing to practice) , you must think , yet in a natural way. Because you have the privilege to study your opponent . Its not even about having rules or not. Its about the comfortable time to study your enemy. Thats why MMA is important. Because even in a survival scenario, you might have a chance to study what is happening. Just change scoring points, to moving to a next step and so on. Yet, sometimes you will just plain react(mutodori), by instinct, losing 3 fingers to cut a neck it is still a win , no? Lol even if you die from infection or blood loss later . Its biology... that simple. Its how our brains works in a XXI context.
