In this video, I get started on the Y-400 laser cutter build. If you haven't seen the previous videos in this build series where I made a custom cabinet and a smoke eater, check out the links below.
The 2020 and 2040 extrusion came in 4000mm lengths from Misumi, so I cut them down to size using my metal cutting bandsaw. After that is was just a matter of assembling all the extrusion to make the gantry. I used the Prusa i3 MK3S to 3D print some of the other parts. After that, I installed the mirror mounts, the Z-axis table, and the belts on the X and Y-axis.
