such an underrated bass channel. so much effort and editing put into these videos that i’m surprised at how they don’t get millions of views. liked and subbed for the algorithm

@@Guitartomguitar excited to see that. Maybe like. What songs, techniques, forms to master on which week. Like week one : focus on only 1 string. Week 3 : two strings. Here are some simple basslines to practice on two strings. Week 5 : 3 Week 7 : 4 strings Etc It would be nice just to have like… a basic 90 day guide of some kind. Straight up… a whole course. Idk. I don’t know anything. All I know is I wanna grove, and I wanna grove yesterday already.

A total newbie here: thanks so much for Tip #7 and E string. I've found plenty of alleged "beginners" videos that are overwhelming and boring, yours are clear and funny!!! Muchas gracias!!

There are so many times when I think my bass sounds like absolute trash, and inevitably my fingernails have gotten too long.

Good tips, including the one about cutting the nails on the plucking hand. I do that regularly as I cannot pluck correctly without cutting the nails down. Also, I try to keep my thumb behind the neck instead of over the neck like when I played guitar. I also like the anonymous video posting idea at 03:58 😂.

Certainly not a beginners lessons but slap grooves and hand independent tapping would be cool albeit, not for everyone. Watching beginners videos is always helpful no matter what level.

Hello Tom, hope all well. Great channel, very very informative, Please could I request for some advice and guidance from you. Started learning the bass a year ago and must say fab instrument! Loving it my fretting hand thumb tends to ache while playing scales, particularly the G maj scale or the F# where the frets are spaced out is it normal to ache in the beginning? Or am I doing something wrong here you think? What do you think needs to be corrected? I don't think I'm pressing the thumb too hard as well, applying standard pressure and also trying to place it in the centre of the fretboard as far as possible Any help or tips in this would be highly appreciated in order to strengthen the stamina of the thumb 🙏🙌

I am shocked I only make two of these mistakes. But I do DESPISE Billy Jean, tried it a couple of times and nope, ain't gonna make me play this 😂 maybe it's easy for pros, but for me it's too much effort with too little outcome, I'd rather play "D is for dangerous" by Arctic Monkeys, it is also quite tiring, but sounds better XD
