Hopefully your house is paid off, your home taxes and insurance are really low, your car is paid off, you have minimum car insurance, you don't drive much and your supermarket bill, phone and utilities is minimal.....I mean, hopefully you have another half like you sharing the pain of the cost, otherwise you will be leaving in a shed with what the govt gives you in return of their takeaway from your whole lifetime payroll checks.

Brian, first off, thanks for one of the best layer out summaries of what you most likely will pay, and including part B into the spreadsheet. I have been watching these videos for 5 months now and this has been the most comprehensive and concise as to what you probably are going to pay yearly for the most common medi-gap NG plans. When I talk to seniors that have been on Medicare for years they typically do not include the 174 dollars a month for plan B. Why? Because it is typically withdrawn automatically from their Social Security. Nevertheless it is still coming out of their pockets. OK, so one thing I would add to this video, and please correct me if I am wrong, plan G allows you to come into at anytime without health pre-certification. So, theoretically you could start with plan N and if you wanted or needed to, in the future you could always switch to a plan G without health ‘penalties’? One more personal question. If I am on VA healthcare (level 6 with a copay), would you recommend a different strategy then this video presents? I am sure there are many veterans watching this video with the same question, because VA is not credible coverage in terms of Medicare, accept for Part D. Another personal question, although again pertinent to many of your viewers. What if we are covered by our spouses plan as we are approaching 65? Specifically if it is a plan with greater then 20 employees, and thus, deemed credible coverage. Should we delay Medicare? I ask these additional questions with the outstanding spreadsheet presented in this video, as I am sharing with my friends. Thanks again!!!

I heard somewhere that if you are on an advantage plan and want to move to original Medicare, that you have to be underwriting for the Gap plan. I heard that there are a few states that are exempt from that policy. My question is: is that True and what are the States that have the Underwritting exclusion? Thanks.
@thx1138guy
11 ай бұрын
There are two instances when underwriting to return to original medicare with a medigap policy is not required. One is when you move your primary residence to a new zip code. The second is if your MA provider drops out of your area. In these cases, you have guaranteed issue rights of getting a medigap policy without underwriting. This is great for renters as it's much easier for them to move than homeowners.

When you get a moment and get in front of a computer, can you confirm with me the cost for the UHC AARP supplement for my zip code and age? I attended several doctors appointments throughout the year, and I think the Medicare Advantage plans will cost me more than the traditional Medicare plan along with a supplement. Also, my medications are going to be costly. So, I need a good drug plan without an annual deductible. So, I'm hoping AARP offers that.
