Sorry, I should have mentioned about the crankshaft pulley removal, I did rent the special honda tool from Oreilly's auto parts and attached a breaker bar which I rested on the floor so it does not move then I bought craftsman socket to fit the hex shaped bolt to which I attached a Long extension and a breaker bar and I took a 5 feet long steel pipe and attached it to the breaker bar for leverage to make a nice Long handle, this finally did the job.

I love how as the video progresses you have to keep adding more band aids to your fingers. Awesome job on the vid BTW!

NOTE: Use the 1/2" breaker bar and socket.the 3/8" may break. While trying to loosen the bolt you can use a jack stand to support the long socket extension...I hope that I have explained it well enough to understand. There are other nice videos of this on youtube also.

Nice video but information on what type of sealant for the water pump would have been helpful.

Robert, I think I used the Permatex (sensor safe) Blue silicone RTV Gasket maker. Blue tube with a water pump picture on it...good luck

Five bolts holding onto the water pump. One is 14mm onto Alternator. Four 10mm. Making a total of 5 bolts. Question: two 10mm bolts on the top & two 10mm on the bottom of left and right sides. Do you know which bolts used or placed for short 10mm bolts? X (top left 10mm bolt) X (top right 10mm bolt) X (top right 14mm bolt) X (bottom left 10mm bolt) X(bottom right 10mm bolt)

How did you take the A/C belt pulley tensioner? It's a very tight spot and very hard to get a socket and wrench in. I have stripped the bolt using a 14m 12 point socket. I found a 6 point socket I had and it wont even go into the bolt. I haven't tried using a torch or cutting it off witha blade. What do you recommend?

Unfortunately there's no clear videos on that show you how adjust the tension on the tensioner, Erick the car guy does a great job of showing you all the steps of removing and putting everything back together but the most critical part of setting the tension on the belt could have been better. My advice from someone like you guys trying to do it yourself is do not start the car until you rotate the crankshaft 6 times to verify that the belt has the proper tension and is on top dead center. I watched other videos that might be helpful and one thing is for sure don't start the car if when turning the crankshaft bolt counterclockwise the timing marks don't line up like they're supposed to.

It was running great but had a bad oil leak coming from the camshaft seal, the timing belt was soaked in oil.

How'd you know you needed to replace the cam seal? I have a 97 Honda accord 2.2L with 300k miles. I thought it was my valve cover gasket leaking, but I've replaced that 2x (yes, I put gasket maker at the cam arch corners), and I'm still getting oil at the top-back driverside corner of the engine near the valve cover. I now think it might be the cam seal leaking, but I don't see any oil on my timing belt when I look at it, even though I do think I see oil on the side of the engine in the area of the timing belt.

@@chotunab. Question here can you tell me the easiest and most effective way of adjusting the tension on the belt and still be on TDC ?
