Here's a video from Kinder Mountain Rescue Team's Christmas day rescue made by Dr Oli and myself. A lady had slipped on the ice and fractured her hip. We requested help from a Coastguard helicopter, but the weather conditions turned out to be too bad for it to get in to the casualty site. So it turned in to a mini epic stretcher evacuation in the snow.
Rescuing someone when they really need help feels like the best way of celebrating Christmas. We still managed to get home in time for reheated turkey and to spend the end of Christmas day with our families.
