Mad respect to Iran's wrestlers. Yep, this is coming from an American.

+7c9ND2el I don't know what it is, but they really seem to know how to do those takedowns. Is it just me or is it strange that I'm seeing almost no counters in these professional wrestling competitions? It happens all the time in high school wrestling, but maybe the size of these heavyweight wrestlers makes it next to impossible to get out of a takedown.

Iranians love American wrestlers too! Sometimes it seems like the top American wrestlers have more fans in Iran than in the US. Wrestlers are heros in Iran. In the west theyre not supported and celebrated like they should be.

I think almost what's more impressive than the wrestling of Iran is the fanfare. Iran loves their wrestlers and weightlifters and show their support all the time! It's a shame it's not the same way in the USA. It's big here, but nowhere near the Iran scale. Those fans are crazy! :-)

Any top US wrestler would be recognized and mobbed on the street in Iran. Especially if they're gracious and polite. Iranians go nuts for Jordan Burroughs! It's unfortunate when politics get in the way. Sports really do transcend all that bullshit and bring people together. Cant understand why American wrestlers and lifters dont get that same recognition and support at home.

I’m 60 years old and from Iran. Since I was kid ; I loved wrestling; we have and had so many world champions in wrestling. But two of them were phenomenal to me. One of them was Ebrahim Javadi ; 50 years ago; when I was a kid only; second one was Reza yazdani. Oh my god ; I loved his style; bravery; and be smart. In Iran called him parang joybar; means panther of joybar. And joybar is a name of home town. But I never called him panther of joybar; I called him bulldozer of joybar. He was a awesome wrestler; but on top of that ; he was the most bad luck wrestler also. Because so many times ; he should get the Olympic gold medal; which he couldn’t continue the match ; because of injuries. I love one day ; I can go to my country Iran; which I can’t go because of this stupid government and see Reza yazdani in person. This is my dream go to city of joybar and find Reza yazdani.

A lot of the top wrestlers, basically all do "illegal" techniques, this is no different, also he doesn't stand on it everytime, also people crying about it, yazdani, has a lot of techniques he uses he also has an excellent high crotch, when he beat gadisov at the olympics he didn't step on the foot once.

Lions, Where were the Persian Lions when the Arabs invaded? Instead of fighting the Arabs the "Persian Lions" became craven dogs not only running to India for protection but sold out their religion and their culture to Arabs muslims. So there is no such thing as Persian Lions. Persian and it's people died a long time a go now the "Persains Lions" are nothing but Arab Muslims and Persian/Iran is just another Islamic state that the Arabs Muslims conquered and made it's people into holes.

In 1980 arab iraqis invaded with the support of the entire western world and the Iran kicked their asses back into iraq not a inch of land was lost, That is what you call Persian lions!!!!!!
